From Buffalo BIllís Brewery, one of Americaís first brewpubs, comes the perfect winter seasonal beer. At 7.5% alcohol, this award-winning brew is a true winter warmer. Blueberry Oatmeal Stout has hints of chocolate, oatmeal and fresh blueberries. A wonderful pairing of flavors! Great for the holidays and for those who enjoy discovering new beers.
30lbs of blueberry per batch.

12 ounce bottle from Mike. Pours black, but not quite opaque. Brown mostly lasting head. Great big olí blueberry aroms with some traces of roast. Big blueberry flavor as well. Seems to be some oatiness to go along with the roasted stouty character. Med/full body. Fluffy mouthfeel. High carbonation. Dry finish. Blueberries.being my favorite give this beer a little bump.

12oz bottle. Deep black color. Roasted and chocolate flavors give way to a sweet, mild blueberry finish. The blueberry is not overwhelming by any measure, but it wonít go unnoticed either. A pretty good beer, mostly just for the innovation.

Bottle (Blueberry Oatmeal Stout): Pours an opaque black with a large, frothy tan head. Aroma boast big blueberry character even upon uncapping along with some sweet doughy pale and roasted malts. Body starts with full carbonation and silky, earthy dark chocolate and sweet caramel malty notes giving way to fresh fruity blueberries. Finishes roasty and bittersweet with some lingering roasted coffee presence. A well-made and enjoyable blueberry stout.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 On tap @ the Brewery. Nice nose of a rich stout and blueberries. Good thick head that stuck around. I found this to be both refreshing and filling. Great combination.

Dark brown color with a moderate tan head and some lace. Heavy wild blueberry aroma along with roasted malt, pepper, light vanilla, and mild dryer fabric softener sheet scents. Very interesting in scent. Quite full in feel. Dark bread flavors along with bitter cherry and some rather bitter floral hops. Quite dry and somewhat acidic in the finish, much like licking a 9v battery. LInger does return to some roasted malts and a light fruitiness. I have always wanted to brew a blueberry stout, perhaps this will actually get me back to brewing as I have not found many that are very good.

(Bottle) Pours a black color with almost no head. Aroma of dark fruit, malts, and blueberry. Taste includes a syrupy blueberry notes, caramel, and dark malts. The blueberry taste is a little bit too strong and borderline cloying. Good mouthfeel and palate. It was an interesting beer, but in my mind this didnít mix very well.

Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Deep brown hue with a creamy tan head and very good lace. You can smell the blueberry very easily alongs with notes of charred and chocolate malt and a hint of herbal flowery hop. The taste is indeed fruity and twangy with a bit of cough syrup action. The malt bill is second fiddle here but can be found towards the light smoked finish. What is interesting is the surprising hop bitterness I was not expecting. The mouth feel is lively and sharp, dry and minerally finish. Okay brew but I wish the Blueberry tasted more fresh and less syrupy.

This beer has an opaque black body with a fairly abundant tan head. Aroma is a bit odd, as while it is quite fruity, blueberries are not the first thing that comes to mind when I smell it. Rather, this beer is rather floral, perhaps rose or geraniol-like. There is also a pretty considerable hop presence in there somewhere. Flavor is very mild mannered, but definitely backs up my suspicion that this beer has some real floral rather than berry-like notes in it. Still, the fruitiness isnít overpowering, and it seems like it would be an OK, if mild-mannered stout if that fruitiness were not layered atop it. Mouthfeel is dry and smooth. Quite drinkable for a "fruited" beer. I would weakly recommend this beer.

From bright tanks at Pyramid Brewing in Portland, OR--Poured a well-carbonated deep yet clear black-brown-amber body. Two-fingered off-white grayish head. Nose of blueberry flavored artificial sweetener, sweet malts, and metallic hops. Mesh of flavors and esters was a bit overwhelming and unbalanced. Interesting enough, but Iíd hoped for so much more. Than again, the Buffalo Bills brews never excited me much.

Tap: Dark, dark brown with a tan head and spotty lacing. Blueberry is slightly evident in the aroma and more in the taste with a bit of a tang. Not as smooth as the Johnny X stout, but nice.
