This combo caught my attention, so I had to try it. Light blueberry on the nose. Burnt blueberry on the tongue. Decent stout used as a base. Still trying to decide if I like it.... still waiting...okay, Iíve finished the bottle. It was a neat experiment, but I am glad I only got one.

Not terrible, not great. I donít think the blueberry flavor adds much to the character of the beer, although it is obvious and works if you want a dark beer with a change of pace.

This beer pours jet black with very little light tan head. I can smell the blueberries in the aroma along with some hints of chocolate. The typical stout character of chocolate and roasty grains is well complemented with a noticeable blueberry flavor. It doesnít seem as though the blueberries were added as an afterthought and the blueberry flavor does not seem fake. I would say this beer has medium almost heavy body with low carbonation, which I really like in a stout. My six pack (on sale at $8.29 from an original $16) says it is 7.5% alcohol. If you can find this at a reasonable price (I donít think Iíd pay over $9 a six pack) and you enjoy stout, it is worth a try or two.

12oz Bottle: Pours a very dark brown, cola brown, w/ a massive soapy brown head that leaves some blotchy lacing behind as it falls. As soon as I cracked this one I smelled the blueberry. So, blueberry: Check. Picking up some malts & a slight hint of yeast in the aroma as well. Flavor is bitter dark roasted malts w/ an ever so slight syrupy blueberry sweetness that lingers on the tongue. Strikes me as an average stout w/ the novelty of blueberry hidden within.

12 oz bottle that was a bonus in a trade with BBB63. Pours a deep brown with an off white head and spotty lace. The aroma of blueberry is quite strong. Flavor is obviously blueberry ( to strong ) and oatmeal. A yeasty bread like background as well as some hop bitterness. Iím not a big fan of most fruit beers and this was no exception. Blueberrys belong in pie, not beer.

Poured deep black with a frothy brown head. Strong aroma of blueberries, oats, and a hint of coffee. Overpowering flavor of blueberries with a nice suttle coffee ending. Fairly impressed with this beer and itís a very easy drinking stout.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of blueberries, chocolate, and some roast. Tastes of blueberries, chocolate, light roast, and a touch of caramel. Medium sweet with a light tart finish.

Courtesy of Degarth. Pours very dark with thin mocha head. It has a big bouquet of blueberries that seem to be coming from sugary fruit extract along with a faint malt roastiness and a hint of tart like chemicals. It has a roasty flavor with a dominant blueberry extract taste that becomes a bit tart and drying into the finish. Seems like a great combination if the fruit part was done different (better).

opaque body, dark brown or almost black, canít tell which...1 finger tan head, semi lasting, some lacing present...nose is oatmeal flakes, blueberries, chocolate, some roast, all of it very artificial and metallic...unfortunately this carries over into the flavor profile as well...stays away from cloyingly sweet, so thatís a plus...medium bodied, appropriate for a fruit beer...creamy mouthfeel...perfume and chemical notes kick up even higher on the back end...finish is lengthy, perfume, fake blueberries, oatmeal and some bitterness...

I had high hopes for this one but the metallic notes just ultimately killed it.

beer with fruits in it. creamy and dark with stouty texture. innovative, but blueberry just doesnít belong in beer imho.
