The aroma is a nice swirl of blueberry, coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied and creamy with prickly carbonation. Sweet, acrid and fruity. Chocolate, blueberry and coffee with decent bitterness. Surprisingly well-done. I’ll be drinking more of this. Underrated, I think. CaptainCougar (5549), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Bottle (Blueberry Oatmeal Stout): Pours an opaque black with a large, frothy tan head. Aroma boast big blueberry character even upon uncapping along with some sweet doughy pale and roasted malts. Body starts with full carbonation and silky, earthy dark chocolate and sweet caramel malty notes giving way to fresh fruity blueberries. Finishes roasty and bittersweet with some lingering roasted coffee presence. A well-made and enjoyable blueberry stout. Cornfield (4981), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 9, 2008 According to my bottle’s label, this was brewed by Pyramid for Buffalo Bill’s Brewery. I was under the impression that contract beers were supposed to go under the actual brewer. (?) Be that as it may - It’s about time one of these overly fruited up Stouts was listed under Fruit Beer. And this time it’s one with my bane of the fruit world, the dreaded blueberry. Nice look, a dark mahogany body - nearly black - with a creamy tan head, but it reeks of a fruit that overpowers any beverage or food that it’s added to. Oh, there’s a touch of roasted barley and coffee, too, but you may as well have stuck your nose into a freshly baked pie. There’s more of those roasted ingredients in the flavor, but the blueberries take on an off bitterness that detracts from the Stout-ness of it all. The finish is dry, bitter, and burnt. Gotta go now and brush my teeth and gargle... then drink a few sane IPAs...

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Dark brown color with a moderate tan head and some lace. Heavy wild blueberry aroma along with roasted malt, pepper, light vanilla, and mild dryer fabric softener sheet scents. Very interesting in scent. Quite full in feel. Dark bread flavors along with bitter cherry and some rather bitter floral hops. Quite dry and somewhat acidic in the finish, much like licking a 9v battery. LInger does return to some roasted malts and a light fruitiness. I have always wanted to brew a blueberry stout, perhaps this will actually get me back to brewing as I have not found many that are very good. Tmoney99 (4809), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured clear ruby color with a medium frothy brown head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium berry friut and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium sweet flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
This soft fruity beer met my expectations.
