2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours dark brown, aroma of dark malt and cocoa. Flavor is rich dark rasted malt with a little chili bite. Texture is thin. Finis bites and burns the throat and maybe that’s the chili from the last beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nutty brown coloring with a small ring of foam. Malty, roasted nut aroma. This is really smooth and creamy with a hint of sweet caramel and spicy nuttiness. This beer has great flavor that explodes on the palate. Great mouthfeel and drinkability. Finishes with a dusting of dry cocoa.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at Buffalo Brewing Co. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cookie, chocolate, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather, leaves) with notes of date and toffee. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
14oz draft at the brewery in a tumbler. BD poured brown with a creamy head. It had a slight sour aroma that immediately had me on guard for a bad beer. The taste followed suit, it was way sour with a touch of bakerís chocolate that really did not appeal to me. I thought the lines were dirty or something but the manager came out and tasted the beer, along with the owner. Both said that the beer was OK. I guess it just tastes that way. I gave the beer back instead of drinking it.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown with a small white head. The aroma has some toast and no roast - seems like there may be some diacetyl hiding back there. This was odder than I expected for a brown ale. It is medium body that is very smooth with minor micro carbonation. The taste starts buttery, but doesnít fully seem like diacetyl. There is very heavy toastiness, some nuttiness, coffee-like bitterness and some crisp hoppiness. The finish has a creamy coffee bitterness. This is a decent brown, but it is not my fave style by far.
