3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a brownish color with amber highlights and a medium thin and creamy beige head that dissipates to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Grainy malt and slight hops aroma. Light body with flavors of bready malt, grain and light hops. The finish is mildly roasted malt and nuts with an aftertaste that does not linger. Count this as the second animal’s drool that I have had with a beer named after it. Slightly above average overall.

Tried from a sampler. Pours clear brown with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Aroma is average malt and light hops with average yeast with notes of toffee. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Not a bad brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted as "Buffalo Brown" at the St. Louis Brewers Guild Heritage Fest 2013 in a sampler glass. It poured a brown color with off-white foam, long-lasting with LOTS of lace. True to style English brown ale, and a good one at that. Very aromatic, toasty, biscuity, roasted grains with subtle marmalade-y hops balance, nice tea-like tannins and mineral water hardness. A tart and refreshing dark ale. Light body, medium carbonation, full bready mouthfeel, dry finish. Good stuff, which makes it two out of two at this fest. Keep up the good brewing, guys!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Minimal aroma (standard for a brown). Not much head. Malty sweet. To be fair, this isn't really my style.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
The aroma was very weak, a slight hint of coffee and roasted malt and a bit of hops. The mouthfeel was very light, way to light to make this Brown Ale enjoyable. Carbonation level was below average. The taste of the ale was very much like the aroma, small amounts of roasted malt, coffee, and hops.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A pleasant, easy-drinking American brown with plum-like and toasted malt flavors. Could use a bit more oomph, but this is a friendly beer.
