1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 farmboy (218) - Barwon Heads, - JAN 20, 2004
I asked myself "Why would a microbrewery attempt a lager?" Isn't that why we drink micros? To get away from the lager taste? This was bad and didn't taste unlike Carlton Draught.
2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 UnholyBrewing (517) - Central Florida(Upper Hell), Florida, USA - AUG 28, 2009
...bottle into pint from brewery. I don’t know how it happened, but this one came out alright. Like the others, I thought it would be a typical bullshit lager, but this had some weird malt flavors, that were actually pretty good. It’s just hard to explain these beers, it must have alot to do with the low quality water used, and environment. Too many off flavors, and traces of fecal matter take away from the ingredients.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Stew41 (1457) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 3, 2007
What a surprise packet! Masses of spice and citrus acorss the nose and palate; far more Belgian wit in style the the generic ’lager’ label gives credit for. Quality orange rinf, spice and ginger as well. Flavours finish a touch hard but this beer is quite good. Maybe they screwed up the labeling?
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 bluevegie (2926) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - SEP 7, 2005
Boring looking, honey coloured with a poor head. Sweet tasting as Carlton Draught but even more watered down, roundness from the Wheat ?
A tickle of grainy bitterness but only faint, maybe too much malt, some grains on the nose 2.2
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 beerledgend (1050) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 1, 2004
Cloudy amber colour with big white head. Very little aroma but tasted like tropical babanas. (Again thanks to Mullet)
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 15, 2004
Wow - interesting to see how poorly this beer has been rated. I didn't think it was all that great, but it was OK. I was expecting a standard Aussie lager type beer, but this certainly wasn't that.
Aroma of chocolate malt (which is odd) and a fair bit of nail polish.
Really quite a chunky malt flavour with REALLY rough bitterness. Orange colour with really good head retention. Full body. Very rough but interesting drinking.
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 Betty (234) - Walgett, NSW, AUSTRALIA - OCT 20, 2003
Chist almighty! This was infected for sure. Horrible astringency and turnips all over the place. Try another beer.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 motelpogo (5046) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 17, 2003
disturbing manure aroma but the brewery is right in the middle of a lot of agriculture. tasted of white grape and detergent, limp and funny
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 eczematic (1297) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 29, 2003
murky yellow. watery, tasteless, apart from weird dirty aftertaste. pretty difficult to get through a glass. beers like this give you a new respect for carlton draught etc.
