Draft at the brewery, my last of the day here. I would say it was also my favorite of the four (Drool, Rye IPA, Head cask). Pours a cloudy amber-brown color with a small but resilient off-white head. Notes of caramel malts, piney hops, toasted brown sugar, cereal, earth, and some herbs. Medium-bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. I hope this hangs around for a little while because I’d like to get some more.

Pours dark reddish amber with a dense beige pillowy head. The aroma is like a toasty version of an amber ale with some nuttiness and a nice hoppy presence that is piny and tropical. Medium smooth body with gently flowing carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of sweet toasted malt, some nuttiness, syrup, lots or caramel, light fruitiness and tropical hop traits. The finish adds some spicy and piny hops and is lightly earthy. The finish also dries out a bit from the initial sweetness.

Tasted 7/16/10. Snifter from the Brewpub. Hazy with reddish highlights over a brownish hue. Clinging off-white head. Aromas of sweet breads and toasty malts with a bitter piney hop flavor. Bright hop character. Tasty, earthy hops on top of a solid malty amber base. Very fresh and very nice!
