COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Reddish in color, medium body the malt provides a flavorful base while the hops create a strong finish and aroma. Bit of caramel and sweetness is complimented by the rye which adds a spicy, crisp flavor to this IPA. Brewed with 20% rye malt.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. As dark an IPA as I have seen. Aroma had some rye and more pine and grapefruit. This was a fine IPA. Rye was tasted but it was in the background. Grapefruit and pine hops with some nice caramel gave a good balance of sweetness. This beer makes a statement. Very well done!

Sampled at GTMW ’11 and it was one of the highlights of the day for me. It was a surprise after not being really wowed by the offerings in the St. Louis brewpub. A lovely ruby hue mentally accentuates the juicy fruit-punch flavor and aroma. Loads of hop flavor and aroma but a smooth, moderate bitterness aids drinkability. Quite malty without being sweet. Superb stuff.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2012 Tasted at the 1st annual Urban Chestnut - Wolpertinger festival in St. Louis, MO, USA from tap into sampler beer boot. Poured a nice, clear reddish amber color with decent white foam. More hops in the flavor than aroma, somewhat upside-down from most IPAs, but not necessarily a bad thing. Very nice rye-oriented grainbill, good crisp mouthfeel. Tart, fruity, bittersweet aftertaste.

Sample at the beer fest. Great beer. Poured a hazy orange color with a decent head. Left a lot of lacing on the glass as it went. Aroma was pine, some caramel, spruce and hops. Flavor was much of the same. Great beer. One of the best of the entire beer festival.

Pour is a copper with an average tan head. Aroma is a nice citrus/pine hop with a little bitter rye. Flavor is again a nice hop with a spicy rye following. A solid IPA with a different malt flavor profile.

Enjoyed from a sampler. The body was hazy dark copper that was nearly brown with a khaki head. The aroma was light rye and oranges. The taste was grapefruit with some iced tea. There was some light rye in the finish. Nice, and not a bad IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear dark orange color with a medium foamy light beige head that recedes to a film eventually. Sticky sheet of lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma with caramel behind it. Medium body with a moderately hoppy character that has an underlying sweet caramel malt flavor. The finish is bready malt with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.
