Handpump, Magpie and Crown, Brentford. Small head, a bit hazy, very gently sparkling. Soft and fruity, like a Kölsch with some British hops added. Nice pine bitterness in the finish. Lovely.

Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Gold with white head. Pretty decent quaffable session ale. Plenty of hop character with a buttery malt. Clean and fresh with a citrusy bite, a good palate cleanser. Good beer.

[Cask at The Ship Inn, Weybourne, Norfolk] Pale amber, slight but lasting white head. Ultra-smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Citrus and cut-grass flavours. A good and slightly different session ale. Cheers!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light amber colour. Light, hoppy taste. Good bitter finish. A very pleasant session bitter, if short of complexity, as one would expect with this style of beer. Handpump, Moon & Mushroom, Swilland, Suffolk, October 2003.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask handpull at Ribs of Beef, Norwich. Copper, slight haze, off white head. It’s a slightly earthy, slightly citrusy session bitter. Quite a good dusty earthy finish though, gives it some character. Fine.
