Cask at Paisley Beer Festival 2008 ...Copper ... strong hop nose .. fruity quite a bit of hop ... quite juicy ...nice finnish

Cask at paisley beer fest. Alround rating: Spicey grassy richer malts, overly bitter without too much body. Sort of big sting beer that not really ment to be.

Bright bottled at Reading Beer Festival. Notes on the day: "Dark amber. Gentle sweetness - some licorice flavours. Soft spice. Barley Wine? Score 3.7" This is a lovely drop. The spice is very christmassy, and this would do well as a winter warmer. The sweetness has dropped out a bit, but this is a beer that is more about the malt and the spice than the hops. Fully brewed so it doesn’t cling and is fairly clean and easy to drink. A strong ale or winter warmer rather than a barley wine.
