33 cl bottle, bottled in Nov 07??? (it’s Apr 07 now) Light amber with a fine cloudiness and a rich, persistent, white froth. Aroma of honey, hay, flowers, spice. Sweet, full, round taste with a fair hint of fruit candies - apricot (let’s try our luck). A gentle peppery aftertaste. Syrupy, sticky. It’s a long time ago I tasted their Bloemenbier...?

Pale blonde, hazy, frothy head. Honeyish aroma with flowery hops. Also loads of flowery hops in teh flavor. Rather citric with pineapple. Oily mouthfeel. Long citric hoppy aftertaste. Delicious!

Taste first tima at karakterbierweekend june 06 (Bottle 75 cl). Dark golden with a very white head that leaves some laces. Aroma of sweet malt and yeast. Good, solid body. Good but not a super beer.

Bottle. Orange, muddy body. Rocky to creamy, off-white head. Just a brilliant appearance. Aroma of hops, orange. (Quite weak) Lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. Very, very lovely beer. Probably the best Proef-bier I’ve ever had so far. Good balance. Off course not great (since it’s Proef), but this is a good tripel. Indeed, I’d rather call this tripel than dubbel.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy pilsener golden with a nice creamy and very white head that leaves some laces. Aroma of sweet malt and yeast. Good, solid body with a distinct alcoholic touch. Soft and sweet malty flavour with an edge of sulphur. Very discreet bitterness. Comes out somewhere between a Belgian Blond and a Tripel. 251205

Bottled. Hazy golden. Aroma of honey and apples. Sweetness balanced by grassy hops, rounded mouthfeel. Lively and drinkable, but somewhat uninspired.

Orange-yellow; good head, leaving fine lace. Cookie malt, old, oxyised hops and sauced pipe tobacco in the nose. Fiery toasted character, little liqueurish tint, and orange, like Mandarine Napoleon with half the sweetness and half the alcohol. Seems to get some coriander warming up. Very dry, burning sensation, medium bodied. I like one thing very much about this beer; it is golden-orange and called ’Dubbel’. Wish this kind of thing would be done more. But. Even for the Proefbrouwerij this exceptionally dull and unexciting. Again, technically OK, but oh for a little esprit.
