3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 EKGoldings (487) - Radford, Virginia, USA - NOV 5, 2010
American Brown ale with more hopping than found in British Browns. I actually like the malt in this beer even though the hopping is a tad forward to really have the malt shine.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 freekyp (1296) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 17, 2010
This very American take on a brown ale is hop dominant. Pours tawny brown, crystal clear, with a 2 finger off-white head. Hops are out to kill in this beer, starting with a quick juicy attack which fades to a deep spiciness, and finally settling into a slight coffee and cocoa malt note.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kinz (2694) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 4, 2009
Sampled at the Virginia Beer Festival. I appreciated the blatant pandering to the VA Tech crowd with the name. Medium brown. Lightly nutty and citric hop aroma. Not much flavor, just sort of vaguely nutty malts, not hoppy like I had anticipated from the aroma. OK though. As a side note, this ended up being my 2100th rating!
