Light, woody, alcohol and belgian yeast tones are prominent in both the aroma and taste. Taste carries some dry fruit notes in addition. Color is deep brown. Finishes in a nice warmth going down. Notes: GABF Denver Visit

On tap sometime during late July 2011, part of their 40th anniversary celebration. Dark black with a creamy dark khaki head. Smells of sweet black licorice, light whiskey booze, and some oak. Taste was intense, but it was a slow burn. Starts light, gets heavier during the flavor profile. Boozy, whiskeyish roast malt on the start, with a small tinge of chocolate. Anise and black licorice come in on the middle, with dark sweet fruit in the middle ,maybe some figs, cherries and raisins. Ends boozy again. Definitely a sipper, getting more complex when warmed.
