On tap at Bull and Bush. Poured hazy orange with fluffy white head, aroma had notes of toffee, bubblegum, fruity esters, some dark fruit, and a big sweet caramel and biscuit note. Taste was like your standard wheat wine, with notes of toffee, esters, caramel, raisin, touch of grass and earth, some sweet vanilla and bubblegum finishing fairly sweet. Amazing it had no alcohol presence.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (4174) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Tap at the brewery - hazy light red - clingy lace - nose is fairly basic and unimpressive - clean, sugary sweetness and moderate esters - a wee bit of tangy, citrusy character - flavor is very sweet up front - sticky and sugary - develops a moderate citric tang and acidity in the middle - grapefruit, orange zest - some earthy, toasty grain and moderate hop bitterness - finish is moderately spicy alcohol - a bit hot - as it warms, it definitely becomes a little boozy - one-dimensional, but okay.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 onceblind (2535) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Yeeaahh! 700th rating! Glad I chose something special. Dark burnt orange in color, with a touch of ruby. Bubbly light cream head. Aroma of dark ripe fruit with a citrusy bite behind it. Not terribly aromatic, had to really concentrate. However, had a big flavor and a huge palate. Some grapefruit and orange citrus, but also with a dominating malt profile of dark fruits and sweetness. Pretty big and bold, but balanced. No real wheat tones detected. Booze is pleasantly subtle considering it’s high ABV.

Tap @ Boulder Strong Ale Festival. Orange ruby red appearance with an off white head. Sweet, semi-fruity amber nose. Pretty fruity and wheaty flavor. Smooth but not amazing.
