On tap at the brewpub on 10/12/07: Pours a transparent copper amber with a dense, creamy tan head. Aroma of sweet grainy pale German malt and a touch of noble hops. Smooth, full sweet body has some grainy malty character with a good balance of bittering hops toward a crisp, yet fairly thick finish. An authentic festbier.

Draft. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty, while the flavor besides being sweet and malty have notes of alchol and nuts, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

yeah, i can see where that name came from looking at this. red copper body a nice gray white head that does not last. malty grain and candy caramel nose. wow, this is heavy , really sticky sweet, it gets easier once i’ve adjusted, but i did not really expect this. a bit of a burnt flower hop taste lingers through this. grainy, this is a hard one to plow through at moments, but, hell, i’ve just got another few miles to get home on the pedal pusher, not one that is really doing anything for me. at least the hefe is on tap. 5 6 4 2 8
