Draft at Falling Rock during GABF. Brown nut shell with a medium off white head. Brown roasty malt that is very stereotypic to the style but good. Lightly roasted flavor. Simple with very light malt sweetness. Nothing off and well balanced. Smooth mouth feel, medium body. Nothing fancy but well made and sessionable.

Pint on tap at Euclid Hall in Denver. Sweet chocolate notes in the aroma with some moderate roast. Lightly metallic. Transparent dark amber-brown body with a medium, fizzy khaki-beige head. Starts with sugary chocolate maltiness. Becomes a little toasted in the middle. Finishes with more sweetness. Pretty good and flavorful. A bit sugary and sweet, though.

On tap at GABF as I was pouring for Bull & Bush. Pours a fairly typical darker brown color with a well-formed off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is nutty and chocolatey, not too intense but nice. The flavor is heavy on chocolate malts, lending a bit of a Hershey bar flavor to it, with caramel and nutty notes in there too. Medium-bodied with average carbonation and a pretty smooth mouthfeel. Solid example of the style overall from the surprisingly good Bull & Bush.

Not much aroma. Deep brown color. Mild maltiness with a bready-nutty finish. Notes: Pub visit during ’09 GABF

Pours brownish with off white head on tap, aroma has nice sweet notes of toffee, nuts, molasses, some burnt toast, with a touch of roast. Taste is nice with notes of toffee, molasses, some dark fruit, nice nut notes with a slightly roasted but mainly sweet finish. Good brew, but needed a bit more.

Draught. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, mild coffee). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Roastier and darker than most American brown ales.

Draught. Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of caramel and grain. Thin mouthfeel with an even smooth finish. A little boring but not too bad.

Stine (1434) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 30, 2008
Tap at the Falling Rock. Pour of creamy, dark toffee appearance, layering a thick, frothy head up the sides of the glass. Aroma of cream soda, vanilla cavendish, salted taffy, fig, and raspberry. Nutty, sweet and soft. Flavor is a sweet mash of old bananas, cinnamon, caramel, red licorice, vanilla, and toffee. Palate is cool and very soft with an earthy, woody texture and lots of residual sugar; finishes long and dry with raspberry bitterness and some gummy iced tea. Underattenuated throughout, but pretty smooth and easygoing enough to be pleasant.
