On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark reddish brown with a thick off-white head. Lots of chocolate raisins. This tastes like an Abbey Ale. It has a very nice medium thickness to the body. The flavor is sweet up front. It’s slightly acrid, similar to sulpher from match heads. Unique.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 3fourths (6399) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 16, 2008
Draft at the brewery. Mostly clear dark tawny brown body with a dark tan head. Nose is sweet dates, nutty raisin bread, and plum. Slick and oily texture, sweet raisin bread flavor is dominant. Little to no real yeast character, making it almost seem like a plum flavored old ale with a strange clove and berry flavor.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 DaSilky1 (2575) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 10, 2008
draft- falling rock: pours an impressive opaque, shall we say... brown with a half inch thick orange/tan head. musty and raisin-like nose with sharp chocolate accents. malty flavors showing notes of raisin, chocolate, figs, and grapes. mouthfeel on the watery side and there’s a significant bitterness riding behind it all. the yeast gives it a nice belgian bubblegumness....quite chocolatey also...in a sharp raisinette kind of way...a little boozish at times as Well...i think the watery texture and the losing fight for complexity stanford in the way of being a winner here. that being said, its not a bad try, really.
