3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at a local. Listed as 7% ABV, and called an English IPA. Pours a thin off white head, over a clear amber (SRM 15) body.....nose is light malts, toffee/caramel, grapefruit peel, resin....taste is moderate toffee/caramel, mild raisin, hints of plum, finishing with a moderate to strong resin, pine bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slight astringency, minimal stickiness, carbonation adds a hint of acid tingle. This is most definitely not an English IPA. It is far too hopped, and the malt backbone is too restrained. However as an IPA (not style specific) it is perfectly nice, well balanced, and appropriately complex. For an English IPA, it needs less hops and more crystal/caramel malt. BJCP, to style on the board, 7/3/12/4/7

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at the brewpub september 2012-pours lite orange with a small soapy eggshell head and good lacing from the start. Nose is pine and diacytl, very brit inspired but with more piney hops (less earth than a brit ipa). the yeast quality is all brit though. lots of pine/resin on the flavors with lingering sweet caramel malt and diacytl. damn this stupid big D, go away! Even so, i actually thought this beer was pretty good and what the brewery was going for. If it didnt have the big D you would see close to 4 ratings from me. However, this is a pretty authentic Brit inspired IPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at brewpub. Pours orange with a thin white head. Slight fruity note on the nose. A bit of hop flavor on the note. A slight bitter thing on the finish. Decent for sale but the moniker is a bit hyperbolic.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy amber color. No nose to speak of. Malt heavy IPA that tastes more like ESB. If this is the flagship beer of this brewery, it doesn’t say much.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Well hopped nose. Hazy golden orange in color with excellent head. Very smooth and thick. Strong malt backbone but well balanced still with hops. Funny name and I love the pint glass that goes with!
