2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, USA - JUN 9, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2004 Draught. Body is light amber. Aroma is
lightly malty (cookie), lightly hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), with a note
of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly
bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Doesn't do much
for me; light uninteresting aroma and citric flavor. Nice mouthfeel
though.

Well hopped nose. Hazy golden orange in color with excellent head. Very smooth and thick. Strong malt backbone but well balanced still with hops. Funny name and I love the pint glass that goes with!
Notes: Pub visit during ’09 GABF

On tap at the brewpub, very hazy orange pour with nice white head. Aroma has notes of really nice citrus, with grapefruit, tangerine and orange leading the way, going into a nice caramel, toffee, biscuit middle. Taste has really nice bold grapefruit, orange, tangerine, some lemon, toffee, caramel, lots of nice biscuit to balance finishing bitter but very tasty. Best brew for sure at this place.

On tap @ B&B. Pour is hazy burnt orange with an off-white head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, pine, light florals and a touch of earth. Flavor shows the same with additional hints of orange peel and what seems
like ginger.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ontbeermaker (1406) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2011
Tap at brewpub, the pour is a dark brown, the smell is very hoppy, the taste is a very earthy hop and over the bitterness is just about right, really quite good, the description was an english IPA, so I wasnt expecting as much hop. But this was a pretty decent offering

growler. Pours a dark mahogany red color with nice sustaining off white head. Aroma of resiny, nectary, with big caramel, molasses malty notes as well. Medium to full bodied, quite creamy and a bit chewy. They describe it as an english IPA, and the flavor is definitely balanced, but there is a ton of hop presence, don’t be fooled. Low carbonation for the style, plenty of caramel and biscuit, a hint of toffee, and sweet, necary / resiny hops on the finish, with a lasting bitterness. Quite nice, very enjoyable.

Tap @ brewpub. Good burnt orange appearance and creamy off white head. Slightly piney, slightly floral hoppy nose. Good bittering, slightly piney, organic hoppy flavor. Smooth IPA while still having a good hoppiness. One of the best beers here.

a tasty english IPA. Very smooth, malty flavor that is well balanced by the piney bitterness of the hops. Very good.

Had a bunch of this at GABF as I was pouring for Bull & Bush. Pours a hazy amber color with a large, lacey yellowish/cream-colored head. The aroma is a nice complex English hop profile - floral, herbal, citrusy, and piney - with a little sweet caramel to back it up. Sweet caramel malt base on the flavor with a pleasant hop bitterness and flavor. Orange peel, herbal notes, pine needles, and resin. Medium-bodied with a nice airy lightness to it on the mouthfeel, and a good level of carbonation. A good and interesting English-style IPA overall, pretty on point.
