Amber pour. Very big chewy resinous hop palate. Dry and tooth strippingly resinous. Lingering chewy earthiness. Very different from their regular IPA… tastes like sucking pine cones.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 5, 2010
On tap at the brewpub: Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a well-lacing pillowy off-white head. Has a fairly fresh piny resiny hop nose with some light malty sweetness. Starts with good fullness for the style and a nice amount of sweet caramel and pale maltiness well-balanced with a healthy dose of piny flavoring and bittering hops. Finishes crisp and bittersweet. A pretty good hoppy, English-style IPA.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6726) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 2, 2003
(cask/ Man IPA) Dull amber-orange, slight haze; yellowish, quite reasonable head. Flowery nose, hoppy, bread dough. Spice-flavoured bread, notes of ginger, plenty of (British) hops, orangezest, nearly tart. Medium bodied, long peppery aftertaste. A relief from the other super-dull B&B beers tasted.

Cash at the Falling Rock, Denver, GABF 2003. Slightly cloudy amber appearance. Roasty wood, vanilla, and nutty hop aroma. Nutty, roasted wood. Good overall spectrum of flavor, robust, and subtly woodish. Nice, but not a typical US IPA. Lacking just a little bit in the body.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2004 Draught. Body is light amber. Aroma is
lightly malty (cookie), lightly hoppy (grapefruit, flowers), with a note
of diacetyl. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly
bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Doesn't do much
for me; light uninteresting aroma and citric flavor. Nice mouthfeel
though.
