3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 arminjewell (3107) - Parker, Colorado, USA - APR 1, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy orange pour with thin white head, aroma had nice notes of biscuit and bread, phenolic pepper and banana notes with slight clove and coriander, hints of orange and lemon as well. Taste is fairly nice, with fruity esters of pear and peach, hints of orange as well going into some banana and clove notes, finishing fairly sweet. Not sure why they called this a dunkelweizen...this is pretty much a well made hefe.

pours a cloudy reddish orange, with minimal grey head. Aroma of banana, clove, ash, burnt sugar. Medium bodied. Flavor has plenty of wheat character, with notes of roasted nuts, banana, bread. Not bad.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 adnielsen (3755) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 16, 2011
Tap @ brewpub. Pretty light appearance for a dunkelweizen- it’s a slightly dark yellow/orange hazy appearance. Some clove and banana scents in a somewhat spicy wheat nose. Quite malty wheat flavor that again isn’t very dark as you would expect from a dunkelweizen. Somewhat spicy and almost mash-like flavor. Not all that good.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bigbish (378) - Colorado, USA - JAN 12, 2011
seems more like a regular wheat vs an actual Dunkel, but the flavor is good. Very strong to the banana with just a touch of cloves. I like it.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 onceblind (1615) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 9, 2010
On tap at Bull and Bush Pub. Very hazy light orange, almost no head, and it dissipates quickly. But the aroma is very nice. I’m getting mostly orange citrus, with some cherry (?!) and a hint of wheat. Taste is more or less the same, just without the cherries. Lots of orange citrus, wheat, some grassy hops without much bitterness, and maybe a touch of caramel malt. Light-medium bodied. Easy to drink and kinda delicious. Just not different enough. But I can easily see myself drinking one for breakfast/brunch.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Pawola22 (2203) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange-amber colored body with a finger-width, very creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves lots of lacing. I have to take a point away from the appearance, however, because they served it with an orange. Ugh. Aroma is alright. I think I saved it before the orange had any effect. Some wheats, caramels, banana, and soft clove spices with a touch of citrus. Flavor is the same with a smooth, very light dryness and a short aftertaste. Light body. Overall, nothing special here. Not quite a "dunkel" IMO. Damn orange peel...
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (6834) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 5, 2010
On tap at the brewpub: Pours a hazy darkish bronze amber with a small ring of off-white head, possibly diminished by the accompanying orange slice. Has a soft, sweet bready nose with some light citrus notes and a touch of toasted caramel malt. Pretty standard body for the style and could use a little more sweetness, but has a nice authentic yeastiness and clove spice before a smooth finish. Very drinkable and true to style.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 notalush (3742) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 25, 2009
Tap at the brewpub - fairly light in color for a dunkelweiss, but nicely hazy - the flavor begins with a decent dose of wheaty tanginess, with a little tart orange peel character - this is followed by some overripe apple and tamarind sweetness - some clove phenols arrive as the beer dries out a bit for the finish - lingering tanginess and wheat - a decent beer, but it hovers somewhere between a dunkelweizen and hefe.
