3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pawola22 (2203) - Chicago, USA - MAR 9, 2009
On tap at the Bull & Bush brewpub. Pours a dark brown, almost black body with a thin, creamy, mocha colored head that leaves a thin lace. Aroma is light with some chocolate roasts, mild mexican coffee, molasses, and sweet fruity toffee. Flavor is similar, but with a bit of a vanilla hint. More of that initial lightly roasted chocolate malt before giving way to a sweet toffee and dark fruit middle and finishing with a mild coffee note that lingers for a short amount of time. Very light amount of straw hop creeps in there as this warms up. Palate is thin, very soft, and sticky. Overall, a bit off balance between flavors, but not bad. Almost seems like the flavor shows up, then halts and disappears before showing up again.

Little to no aroma to me. Deep brown-black in color with no head. Roasty character though very light in both texture and taste.
Notes: Pub visit during ’09 GABF
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 arminjewell (3107) - Parker, Colorado, USA - SEP 27, 2011
Pours dark brownish black with tan head, aroma has notes of coffee, dark fruit, roast, slight touch of cocoa powder, some slight grassy hops in there as well. Taste is fairly straight forward, with slightly watery notes of toffee, dark fruit, roast, some coffee, cocoa, finishing with a very dry slightly bitter finish. Pretty good stuff, wish it was a bit more full flavored.

12th October 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Smooth stout. The malt is a little toasty. Some traces of banana in there as well.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 adnielsen (3755) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 16, 2011
Tap @ brewpub. Dark black appearance with a creamy brown head that dissipates pretty quickly. Dark roasty, slightly burnt malts in the nose. Quite roasty chocolate malty flavor. The roastiness sticks around in the finish and aftertaste. Easy drinking and enjoyable stout.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 onceblind (1615) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 23, 2010
On tap @ the brewpub. Pretty dark in color with a dark beige head. Smells like sharp cheddar cheese dipped in sweet chocolate. Malty aroma. Texture is bright and bubbly, clean and sweet finishing. Tasted much like the nose, with cheddar cheese coming through on the palate as well as chocolate malts. End was slightly bitter, like any good stout. And this is a good stout...just not a great stout.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JAN 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a thin off-white head. Has a nice chocolate and roasted aroma. The body is rich and thick and flavor is a bit smokey. This is delicious and chocolately. A good brewpub stout.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (3742) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 16, 2009
A nicely balanced stout, with an interesting mixture of chocolate sweetness, roasted malt character, and a light bit of tartness - sweet up front, followed by a medium dry middle and finish - a touch of diacetyl, but the bitterness and tartness keep it fairly subdued, keeping it just present enough to make this stout taste "very british" - decent.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 arrogantb (901) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 27, 2009
Picked up a growler of this at Bull and Bush because I realized I had never tasted it before. The color was the obvious black with a great foamy, coffee-colored head. The smell was malty with a bit of roastiness in there. The flavor was smooth roasty, good stout. I killed the growler all by myself so it was definitely very easy to drink.
