Pretty good for an ESB, which I usually dont care for. Not much to the aroma. Medium hop notes carry through a solid caramel-malt body. Notes: Pub visit during ’09 GABF

So, after starting thevening off with some more, y’know, experimental faire, I decided to have this with my food. It was a nice choice - I got a little oatmel and toast, with a blueberry not in the background. Not bad at all - simple and tasty.

On tap at the brewpub, pours hazy orange with white head. Aroma has notes of toffee, some lemon, touch of bitter grass, some sweet nuttiness in there as well. Taste is a bit odd as well, with notes of sweet nuts, some caramel, toffee, grass and pine, finishing slightly bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy brown beer. Crisp palate. Moderately hoppy Just a little malt. Okay.

Clear brilliant amber. Grainy malty aroma, with some sweet syrupy tones, and a tinge of honey. Flavor was sweet and complex, with a great mouthfeel. Heavy toffee malt and honey esters blend and play off each other nicely. Very faint touch of cocoa, but otherwise pretty light-malt forward, only lightly balanced by grassy hop notes at the end. A fantastic ESB, even if it is missing the bitterness.

Tap @ brewpub. Mildly hazy red orange appearance with a small head. Amber nutty aroma with some bittering hops in the nose. Flavor is a nutty amber malty flavor with a lot more bitterness from the hops than I detected in the nose. Bitterness on the finish is strange and a little off.

prett boring. Flat flavor, not muc bitterness. Weak aroma. They need to double down on the malt bill or something.

Poured for Bull & Bush at GABF, and probably poured this for the rater below me. Draft. Pours a light hazy copper color with a large white head that leaves very good lacing. The aroma is rather typical of an ESB - floral and citrusy hops, a little herbal, with sweet malt and butter. The flavor is also a bit buttery and sweet. Pale malt and caramel on the base with a decent orange, floral, and herbal hop profile. Medium-light on the mouthfeel with an appropriate carbonation level. This beer was the least of their offerings in my opinion. It’s fine for the style, but nothing special.

Sampled at GABF on 9-18-2010. Amber with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt, spices and hops. Tastes of sweet caramel, bread and hops. Interesting, but too sweet for me.

My first beer in Denver… and I’ll like to thank notalush and apoptosis for dragging my sorry ass around Denver sampling. Pale amber pour. The nose is somewhat spicy and fresh with lots of bright EKG hop aroma. Herbal and a little bit woody with a touch of orange peel as well. A little bit of light berry esters, but it is softly bittered on the back. Quite a nice brew.
