COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Our ESB is brewed with traditional ale malts and hops. Representing just one of the steps on the Pale Ale ladder from Ordinary Bitter to IPA, our version is traditional in the UK style with lower carbonation, floral hop aromas, a toasty biscuity quality and a balanced hop bitterness. The body is appropriately medium in weight and texture. The name comes from Durham’s historic Bennet Place, where they signed surrender papers for Southern armies in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. It was the largest troop surrender of the American Civil War. HOPS USED: Northern Brewer, FUggles
