COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1884, Parrish Street was known as Clay Street. In honor of the street’s origial name, we brewed an original British style pale ale using legendary imported 100% English Maris Otter malt and 100% imported UK hop varieties. Keeping the recipe essentially the same as our Parrish St. beer allows the most discerning of palates to compare the American malts and hops in our Parrish St. pale ale to the uniquely British version. Cheers! HOPS USED: UK Challenger, UK Goldings, UK Fuggles

Sometimes a beer like this -- which, given the style, would normally strike me as unexciting -- hits me at just the right moment, and I love it. Case in point here. Pours amber-golden, light and clear with a small beige head. Nose of bready malts and light, crisp British hops. Light, refreshing, and a great session beer with a burger. Digging it.

Served on cask at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral and fruity hops. The taste is pale malts with a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Well balanced.

On tap at BCBB, Durham. Nice, bright, simple but elegant pour. Strong tea-like hops in the nose with malt backing. Body could stand to be bolder, as it barely attained medium status. Taste was more clean and fruity than expected, with sweet malts peeking through here and there and just a touch of bitterness.

Draft from the brewery. Copper color with a razor thin white head. A few big soapy bubbles. It felt lighter bodied than I normally think for English influenced pale ales. The mouthfeel and hopping came across as bright and crisp, nothing overpowering. Near the end of the glass, as the beer warmed, I got a slightly acidic note in the finish. Other than that, it’s a real tasty, refreshing session brew.

TURDFERGUSON (2753) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. Orange with a small white lace. Nose is malty, English hops. Like the nose a bit more than the flavor but they are both kinda blah. Nice citrus, earthy character throughout. Medium bodied with a mild bitter finish.

Tap at the brewery. Pours a sharp clean light amber with one finger of off white head. Herbal hops in the nose with a light bready sweetness. Mild showing of diacetyl. Flavor is nice and round. Full malt character with a grassy hop bite. Toasted bread and a lightly herbal character and hint of diacetyl. Medium to light body with an almost citric finis.
