On tap at brewer. Brown pour with a thin tan head. Scent is herbal, bready and sweet. Taste is sweet malts and some bitterness in the finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JCB (3804) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - AUG 15, 2011
On tap at the brewery, Durham. Cloudy russet pour with a one-finger creamy head to it. Strong sharp hops and malts in the nose, just a trace of booze. My initial impression is that this is Arrogant Bastard light (though the ABV may prove the latter term wrong). Still, that’s an indication of where they’re going with the profile and for the most part they hit the mark. Definitely aggressive, which is out of step with the rest of their line. But it’s fairly flavorful and certainly goes well with cow.
Wonkawash (not bad, aggressive ASA),

pint a brewpub. good aroma, sweet. cocoa, orange, a yeasty nutty scent. brownish orange color. goood head. minor lace. bittersweet flavor. medium body. oily creamy mouthfeel. bitter sweet finish that fades off. better than other offerings. a weaker arrogant bastard, for lack of a better dedscription....send via dumb phone...
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 freekyp (1412) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - AUG 10, 2011
Pours a hazy chestnut brown with a thick laced beige head. Deep alcohol trails wind down the sides of the glass. Aroma shows earthy brown ale notes, citrusy hops and twizzlers. A hefty dose of caramel malt carries this hoppy beer to a sweet alcoholic finish. Pine notes rise in the long fade.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DukeBrewDevil (724) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Draft at the brewery. This beer is all over the place...it looks like an amber with a bit of haziness, it smells like an Indian Brown, and it tastes like some blend of a brown, an IPA, and a barleywine. There’s an initial spiciness, then a strong, sweet malt presence, and a finish that includes both those flavors along with a ton of citrus hops and a warm, though not hot, alcohol bite. I don’t know what it is, it’s hard to describe, and I like it.

Good beer. My favorite from BCBB yet. I like the orange bitterness that’s this beer Places on your palate.

Muddy brown with one finger of tan head. Citrusy and English, sweet orange rind and bread with a mildly herbal character. Very nice flavor. Would note have expected this profile from these hops. Lots of citrus and sweet floral notes.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TURDFERGUSON (3567) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Draft at the brewery. Pretty interesting beer. Very hard to place. Definitely not a ipa, but has more body than a "hoppy amber." The chocolate malt is interesting and works well with the fruity hops. Thought this might be a little messy, but it’s easy drinking like most things at BCBB.
