Our first batch of lager in the Vienna style showing a copper amber hue with rich malty tones. The lager yeast strain works slowly at lower temperatures versus an ale. This beer was "lagered" for over six weeks before filtering and serving on tap. Our Rogers Lager is a classic German style beer using both Munich malt and genuine Hallertauer hops. Lagers emphasize clean flavors and crisp qualities rather than the fruitiness of an ale styled beer. Prost! to our first lager and many more lager styles to follow. The Rogers pharmacy was located on the corner of Mangum/Parrish streets for over fifty years. It was a Saturday meeting place for the community and where everyone was shopping for sundries as well as medicines. Have a dose of our "medicine" as we remember the legendary Rogers family and drug store. HOPS USED: German Hallertauer

On tap at brewer. Dark golden pour with a thin off white top. Scent is almost none, some grain. Taste is malty, caramel and sweet.

On tap at BCBB, Durham. Had this one the day it was tapped, I think, and perhaps it just needed time to come into its own. Whatever the reason, I was very underwhelmed. Cloudy, flattish deep gold pour. Nose is redolent of wet grains and musty leaf. Body on the thin side, and flavors were anything but those I associate with Hallertaus. Murky overall, which is exactly what I don’t want from this style. Will try again, though.

Pours a gorgeous red--tinged brown with a rocky off-white head. Caramel and toast notes are thick in the aroma and flavor. A coppery metallic noble twinge is very present. Round mouthfeel with a balanced clean and malty finish.

Draft at the brewery. Clear, dark golden color. Muted nose of toast, flavors are a nice, subtle combination of caramel and sourdough with a sweet finish with a little hops to clean the palate. Simple, well made and easy to drink without being watery.

On tap at the Brewery. Pours slightly darker golden than most lagers. Taste is grainy and sweet and corny; not as crisp or hoppy as I’d like. My least favorite so far.

Clean golden pour with one finger of off white head. Malty sweet nose, dextrinous with bready notes. Rich and bready, very clean. Great malt character.

Draft at the Brewery. Bright orange amber with small white head. Toasted malt, honey, light hop nose. Easy drinking and a not a bad tasting lager. Surprised how much I enjoyed this.
