2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
It’s easy to miss out on BCBB’s Experimental Tap 7 stuff, as people tend to go for it very quickly. But I got to try the wet-hopped version of this ordinarily dry-hopped ale a couple times. Nice cloudy deep orange pour, with slightly less of a head than normal. Smelled sharply herbal in the nose, just a bit of sweetness detectable. Mouthfeel was watery, with a bit of a leafy bitterness to it. Alas, I found the flavor to be even worse, like horrible dank beer-flavored iced tea, with preciousl little hop flavor. Was hoping for improvement, but perhaps that’ll have to wait until the next time they brew this one.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Okay. Had some of the first batch of this a month or so ago and had a similar experience to Jason. This beer was so weird. First of all, it smelled and tasted like watermelon. But it had a distinct bitterness, mixed with some grains and watery tea. I mistakenly ordered a pint and although I pour many beers down my drain at home, I rarely will leave a beer not finished at the bar but damn if this beer was incredibly hard to drink. Wow, this was atrocious.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had this one wet hopped with Cascades. The visual specs were the same as the normal version. Lots of watermelon (?) in the nose and flavor. Interesting for sure.
