| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 13, 2008 This one wasn’t so great. No perceivable hops on this beer and that is ok for the style. There is some sugar and dry malt, with a sort of grain-like character. Lacks complexity. More thanks to Skyview for this on. BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Thanks to Skyview for sharing. Sweet caramel aroma, and sweet body. Copper color with faint head. Smooth body. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Aroma of caramel and earthy English hops. Very dry malt taste along with a pinch of hops. Simple but not bad. Stine (1381), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Poured from a growler. Murky rust. Honey apple, ctirus, canteloupe aroma; tangy and sharp. Flavor brings candied fruits and gumdrops, dough, and pistachio; violently sweet. Underfermented, sugary, and loose. Dry papery finish leaves a tasteless waxy coating. Inoffensive, though work is certainly needed. Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 9, 2008 I’m not exactly sure why, but I was less appreciative of this beer than their Oktoberfest; I definitely think this beer needs the attention of the proper serving temperature, because the flavor is a bit subdued, with malts that give you a sense of caramel, but like English-made equivalents often don’t give you enough dimensionality. The very subdued alcohol is a credit to the brewers, though the alcohol is what often drives the flavor profile the UK-made bottled English strong ales (and that’s not always a bad thing, as it can lift the aroma to you). The palate is a bit velvety, showing solid potential for this new brewer on the Midwest scene--good luck to them. Growler. Skyview (4121), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2008 On draught at the brewery’s tap room and visitor’s lounge in Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear dark copper amber brew (slightly darker than the oktoberfest) with a thick, creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and thick/spotty lacing. Served in a tulip style glass to allow this beer to come up to room temperature that has an aroma of sweet caramel malt, some candi sugar, light tropical fruitiness with a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied and light carbonation with flavors of a semi-sweeted caramel malt, some candi sugar, cotton candy and a touch of allspice. Finish is smooth, creamy, a slight alcohol warmth with a semi-sweet candy aftertaste at first and then a mild bitter finish. At first when served cold, the aroma and taste is light. Once the beer comes to room temperature the beer’s character really comes through.
