COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with four varieties of hops, black chocolate and roast grains then spiced with six secret ingredients, this 17th century porter is black, bittersweet with a luscious caramel head.

Deep brown nearly black in colour with a brown short but almost lasting head. Aroma is lots of things, rich dark chocolate liquorice toffee and malt. Flavour is milky coffee, sweet, caramel and medium bodied. Enjoyable but slightly different for a porter.

Deep opaque brown with a larger than average and relatively long lasting dark brown head. Aroma begins with strong roasted malt intertwined with coffee and hints of port wine, someting yeasty & chocolate. Medium thinnish typical porter body with medium malt and hint of cough medicine start. Reasonably strong bitter and roasted flavours dominate the middle and thereafter. Finish also has hints of caramel sweet malt before going back to a dryish bitter. Quite a surprise for a small local brewery in the middle of nowhere to make such an interesting brew. One to follow up.

Not too bad at all. Deep brown to black in colour with a tan head. Roasty nose, with perhaps a bit of fruit. Sweetish on the palate, but the finish is a tad more drier, and a tad bitter. Lots of roasty coffee and caramel flavours, not insane, but pretty good for an Aussie beer, quite full-flavoured, slight molasses flavour, which didn’t quite agree with me, but i think this beer was more good than bad, another surprise from this brewer.
