Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

Draught in Rome. Clear dark amber brown with a medium slightly off-white soapy head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Medium sweetness with nice subtle bitter tones. Caramel, malts, hops and some spices.

Pours a clea ramber color, topped with a medium sized white head. Malty aroma, with some mild presence of fruity notes. Taste is sweet and malty, medum bitterness and some presence of alcohol. Not a bad one, but not that good either.

Tap. Appears a light red with a small head. Tastes a bit flowerish, a bit herbal with a nice hoppy finish, due to the dry hopping.

Bottle @ home, gift from my uncle Ino. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, a hint of dark fruit, lightly sweet, a hint of bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Ah well, it’s decent enough.

Una strong ale decisa. Ben strutturata e molto corposa, rotonda.

Nice amber colour and the one-finger thick head, but quite lacking a distinct aroma, out the 330ml it smells like a cheap supermarket beer honestly. Fortunately tastes better, even if it has a very strong bitter end for the first sips.

Lots of spotty lacings left in the glass S: Strong caramel in the nose. Quite fruity too. Notes of wood and scotch. flowery hops T: Sweet upfront. Quite bitter end. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, wood, scotch malts. Nice bitter stingy end M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Hoppy bitter end O: Good drinkability. Good scotch malt character. Not bad [ BA Review @ 3/30/2013 ]
