COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

Bottle - 330ml. Dark gold body with a decent white creamy head. Aroma is dominated by bad sweet/flowery and melon hints. Taste carries horrible chemical notes. Ends with a harsh oversweetened and chemical finish. Drainpour.

Bottle, bought in Kastelruth, Italy. Golden color. Peach and grapes in the grainy aroma. Sweet, grainy flavor with dust and grapes. Cardboard. Disappointing.

Bottle. Pours amber with almost no head. Pure apricot marmalade on the nose. Flavour is wheat bread and apricot jam. Medium bodied. Rough finish. One dimensional - liken it to an apricot wheat beer - strange.

Bottle from Global Wines, Bearwood. Smells not too good - a bit caramel, a bit like wet cagoule. Flavour is a bit too strong and slightly sickly, with a sweet nut kick. Not terrible, but not something I wanr to try again.

33 cl bottle. Pours copper with a medium white head. Aroma is strong malts, some hops and barley. Flavour is malty, caramel, candy sugar and some slight roasted notes. The finish and aftertaste are dominated by a dry hoppyness.

Bottle. Its a long time since I tried this one and was very surprised to see it on the shelves again. Hoppy aroma upon opening with a pale yellow appearance.Slightly bitter with a medium body. Pleasant although not sure if it was as good as when I first tried it some years ago.

Holy christ - this is Peroni Gran Reserva under a different name. I’m not joking, I’ve got both side by side and I can’t tell the difference. Conclusion - Heller bock from SABMiller = English Strong Ale from Heineken => Neither of them are what they claim to be, they’re just mass-produced muck.

bottle - pours amber color almost no head. Fruity aroma with hint of fuitcake, sweet flavor with a bitter aftertaste.
