On tap @ Buskers, Perugia, Italy. Aroma: caramel, cereal and a bit of herbs, with some alcohol. Foam is short-lasting, but a bit of foam remains for longer. Amber color. Taste: quite bitter at first, but becomes sweeter as the beer warms up. Medium body, average carbonation.

tap @ Prince of Wales, ITALY. Birra interessante, dal bel gioco dolce/alcolico /amaricato. Profuma di tostato e di caramello, con anche un decisa nota alcolica. Schiuma bianca sporca ma molto compatta, di breve durata. un sottile strato di schiuma invece rimane anche dopo parecchi minuti. Carbonatazione medio alta, di corpo tenue, consistenza oleosa, finale amaricato e lungo. In bocca è piacevolente calda con un bella rotondità. Non è molto equilibrata, perchè i gusti sono molto divisi, prima si avverte il tostato poi il dolciastro ed infine l’amaricato, ma non sono lgati. in complesso però è buona.

Head and color ok. Aroma: some unrefined crude malty/graininess that gets worse as it warms up; and a bit of alcohol. The taste has the slight hint of alcohol and is dry and bitter first; as it warms up it gets sweeter and has a vienna/marzen-style bitter-sweet character, but with that crude cereal scent too. Unpleasant beer.

Intense golden color with white head. Malt, caramel and alchol aroma. At taste is light sweet and malty, with caramel malt and honey flavour pretty balanced with fruity english hop.

On tap @ Molly Malone, Nebbiuno (NO) Italy. Served nicely, which is a rarity among italian irish-style pubs, pours a clear light amber colour, with a thick and lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel with a little earthiness and spiciness from the hops, Very sweet, nice body, with a little bitterness to give balance, Soft carbonation, oily body, quite pleasant for a regular beer. The aftertaste lingered around for a while, with the characteristic earthiness. To me, this is one of the best products from the big industry (never tried it from the bottle, I’ve been told it’s very different, and worse). Drinkable enough.

330ml bottle from Carrefour, Udine. Pours small frothy head. Copper dark blond colour. Aroma of boiled sweets and cough medicine. Taste is thick, full bodied syrupy alcohol with pronounced orange and cherry notes. Very light carbonation. Very sweet and very malty. Finish is bitter and lingering, with the hops giving a lasting spiciness. A nice strong ale but a tad too sweet for my liking.

Taste the same. Quite nice Actually. Better than expected.
