3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 faroeviking (8805) - - NOV 9, 2006
The very best IPA I tasted in South America and among the best IPAs I have tasted during my many years of beer drinking. Reminds me somewhat of a Brooklyn East India Pale Ale.
Draught. Amber colour, small head. The hops clearly dominates the aroma. Nice fruity, dry (crisp) flavour with a heavy bitterness. Long lasting aftertaste.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 solidfunk (651) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2011
Hops makes its presence felt but doesn’t fill up the room. Can at least detect it firhg from the first smell. It doesn’t feel like enough hops to preserve a beer from London to Bombay, however.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 philippem (98) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 22, 2011
Drank last year, while I was in Buenos Aires. Maybe my favorite beer from my expedition in Argentina. Hops is something South Americans brewers seems afraid of, maybe because of frightened customers and consumers, maybe because hops are expensive there, I simply don’t know. Well, for the South American standards, I thought that hops (citric hops nonetheless!) had a nice presence in this beer, with a pleasant malt presence. But the feel of the beer was kind of watery, which was a disappointment. Color is amber/orange. More of a Bitter (if not Mild Ale) than an India Pale Ale. Very sessionable though (on cask, this would have been a blow me think). Honest and pleasant. Neostoicism was a syncretic philosophical movement, joining Stoicism and Christianity.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 garza (480) - Oslo (NO), Caracas (VE), VENEZUELA - MAR 5, 2011
Cloudy amber colour with a thin tan head. Strong aroma of fermented cherries, a bit fruity too. Medium bitterness in the taste and refreshing. Some light fruity notes. Light/medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, and a bitter after taste. Good.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sledutah (2141) - Utah, USA - DEC 4, 2010
On tap at Bullers downtown, Buenos Aires
Appearance: Clear amber with a nice white head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Malts, honey and fruity hops
Taste: Fruity with a light bitter finish
A nice IPA, but light on the hops. I say that but we were sitting with some locals that said the IPA was very bitter.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ZooKeeper (26) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 16, 2010
Buller Pub, Recoleta. Part of 6 beer tasting tray. Amber colour, slightly cloudy. Not particularly hoppy, but a reasonable IPA.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jalichio999 (502) - BRAZIL - APR 26, 2009

on tap-pours a patchy off white head and hazy copper color. Aroma is mild medium malt. Taste is medium malt-caramel, secondary earthy hops with slight bitter. Easy drinking, medium body IPA/bitter. Mild carbonation.

Tap at brewpub in Buenos Aires. Solid amber colo, cloudy, with a white head. Malty and dry finish with a fairly nice hop presence.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2007
Draught in the brewpub. Some hops and citrus wash around with the caramelly maltiness, but this isn’t an IPA - it’s a decent enough dark bitter, but it’s not an IPA. it tastes very formulaic as if it’s brewed from a book not the heart...
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Stine (1399) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 5, 2007
Recoleta location. Pale copper color. Nose betrays curiosities. Citrus shades are faint beneath an earthy nut quality, bitterness being hard to decipher. The trend continues. Aerosol and pixie dust sugars are foremost flavors, underscored by more authentic notes of cantaloupe and grapefruit, to be hit hard with alcohol in the finish. Hops begin to blossom after swallowing. Palate is crisp and somewhat dense with lasting bitterness. Not fulfilling, but acceptable.
