2011 Vintage
Tasted on 2/7/14 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at the Friday night tasting at RBWG Asheville, thanks to blomster for sharing. Pours hazy pale orange with a thin beige head that quickly disappears. The nose is super funky with some lemon vinegar, a touch of honey and some nutty oxidation. The flavor is quite sour, a nutty sherry note, red wine vinegar sour, and a touch of honey. The body is medium with grippy tannin, and a long nutty sherry finish. There is a good amount of vinegar to this one, but the sherry similarities really appeal to me.

750 ml bottle shared by Blomster on Friday night at RBWG. Thanks again! Pours a hazy, dull gold with no head. Aroma of earth, funk, vegetal notes, lemon, and yogurt. Flavor of lemon, lactic acid, cheese, vinegear, and white grape skins. Medium-bodied, with a tart, lactic mouthfeel and low to moderate carbonation. Pretty interesting sour.

>> Thanks blomster for the share. Beautiful bottle. Cloudy orange pour with weak foam. Nose is apple, huge acetic acid, salty, honey. Taste is acetic, sour apple, bright lime. Palate is salty lime, big acetic. Get ready for a lot of vinegar.

Bottle at RBWG 2014. Pours a hazy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of light funk notes, barrel and sour light fruits underlying. Flavor is sour through out with a bit of light fruit and a growing acid note that is slightly acetone in the finish.

Bottle - Vintage 2011 - Tart apricot and pitted fruit. Cloudy orange with no head. Tart apricot/barrel with lemon and grass. A little disappointing considering the hype.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #35. Bottle shared at the Friday Night Downtown Inn Bottle Share. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Good head retention. Earthy, funky, musty aroma with some tart citrus. The taste is tart and acidic with notes of cider apples, apricots and a moderate funkiness. Medium bodied, lingering tartness. Very nice.
