A great sour beer, aged in an oak barrel which used to contain red wine. Tart & fruity. Nice balance. Really reminds me of a Cantillon.

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville, Amber pour with a small head. Orange peel, mellow citrus. Some steeped tea. Quite tart, acetic. Countryside meadow, bright citrus. Swedish Fish candies. Light body, zippy on the palate. Simple, effective.

Bottle shared at Levi’s tasting. My first French sour I believe. Very sour. Gritty texture and an orange color. Some yeast and fruit. I like this very much. The palate is unusual and the sourness is great.

Tasted on 2/7/14 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at the Friday night tasting at RBWG Asheville, thanks to blomster for sharing. Pours hazy pale orange with a thin beige head that quickly disappears. The nose is super funky with some lemon vinegar, a touch of honey and some nutty oxidation. The flavor is quite sour, a nutty sherry note, red wine vinegar sour, and a touch of honey. The body is medium with grippy tannin, and a long nutty sherry finish. There is a good amount of vinegar to this one, but the sherry similarities really appeal to me.

750 ml bottle shared by Blomster on Friday night at RBWG. Thanks again! Pours a hazy, dull gold with no head. Aroma of earth, funk, vegetal notes, lemon, and yogurt. Flavor of lemon, lactic acid, cheese, vinegear, and white grape skins. Medium-bodied, with a tart, lactic mouthfeel and low to moderate carbonation. Pretty interesting sour.
