Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin rim of beige head. The aroma is sweet acidic and metallic combined with oxydized notes and over ripe fruit. The flavor is sweet and rather acidic with notes of over ripe fruit and metal, leading to a dry bitter, metallic, and woody finish. The body is watery thin.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Hildigöltur. Pours a hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly tart, berry-like nose. Medium body with tart, fruity accents - actually some Brett i believe. Dry and lightly sour finish. A nice surprise. 100507

Bottle, 75cl corked. (thx to papsoe) Unclear, golden-brown pour with a small beige head on top. Acidic and sour aroma with some raspberry-like aromas and citrus. Acidic, lightly vinous flavor with raspberry and citrus note. Astringent, medium mouthfeel and a lemony finish. Oxidiced on purpose? It’s a strange, but in a way nice beer. (070510)

Comments: One of the most expensive French beers according to Jacob, at 7,5Euros. It’s a very vinous, yet not woody, fruity ale with apple, kiwi, grapes, oranges and generally fruit salad flavours. Tart, but not really dry. Idiosyncratic, but not as good as it could have been following more axes.

Bottle as chapter two of the BeerandBlues2 send off. 2011 bottle #53/352. Pours (into a geuze glass) like a lambic, hazy variegated dark golden brown color, no head to speak of. Aroma of sour cherry, lemon, dried apricot. Taste is strongly sour summer fruit, with some acetic acid at the finish. Resembles a Cantillon oude lambik, and drinking it out of a Cantillon glass completes the illusion.

Cuvée 2008, bottle from Cave à Bulles. Hazy copper with lots of sediment and a steady little head. Good sour fruit aroma, clear notes of wood. Solid sourness, berries and woody flavours, some yoghurt, ending quite dry. Serious stuff- probably one of the most impressive French beers I have tasted.

Bottle: Poured a murky orange with a carbonation to it, there was no head. The aroma was sour pungent fruit. Taste was sour fruit some funkyness of apples. There was some wine presence to it as well on the tongue.
