2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Poured from a bottle.
Aroma is slightly phenolic with some bubble gum and quite a bit of nail polish remover. Some citrus and phenolic notes.
Pours a hazy golden copper with a small white head that quickly disappears.
Flavor is slightly sweet with moderate acidity. Weird fruity kiwiberry notes with bubblegum and nail polish remover. Some sweetness in the finish with a burn. Weird lingering sweetness with some fruit and acidity. Slightly spicy too.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and slightly syrupy with low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, an interesting beer but not in a good way. Very weird with nail polish and bubblegum.

Brown pour. Pure acetone, apple cider vinegar. Nail polish everywhere, physically painful to drink. Why on earth was this released?

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
750 mL bottle poured into a wine glass. Slightly hazy. Orange body. No head. Vinegar aroma. Strong vinegar. Yikes. Taste has just a little bit of fruit before vinegar takes over. Finishes with some acetone. Low carbonation. Extremely sour. Really difficult to drink. I couldn’t even finish my portion of the bottle.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
750 ml bottle to taster. Looks decent; a somewhat cloudy caramelish orange with very thin white lacing. Smells semi-tart with notes of nail polish remover. Tastes like it smells, but more robust, which is worse. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full-bodied and vinegary. Garbage juice.

I’ve been drinking beer for well over a decade. I’ve had a lot of good beer and a lot of bad beer. Crime Of Passion is probably the worst beer that i have ever had. It smells like diapers, old Indian food and regret. It tastes like nail polish, water from Chernobyl, rusty nails and rigor mortis. Getting this down the hatch was difficult as i almost threw up, so i had to pinch my nose so i would not smell this death trap while drinking it. COP ended up in the dirt, and i feel sorry for that dirt, but i had to do what to do. This beer should have been dumped a long time ago and not sold to the public, so that is strike one for Bullfrog in my book, and this is a brewery I have a lot of respect for. I heard descriptions of this beer from my group consisting of ’ mothballs, ranch dressing, nail salon and probably the most fitting just downright awful. Avoid at all costs, do not trade for this beer, if you get it as a extra, extra it back to somebody else with a ’drink at your risk’ sticker on it. Chances are if you extra this beer out to somebody it will probably return in another box later down the line.
