COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Massive amounts of malted barley and Warrior hops are packed into this blood red monster, giving this double red ale its luxuriously rich, caramelized body and hop-gasmic aroma.

Part of a sampler at brewpub. This was one of the better ones in the sample I had. If I remember correctly it was heavier on the hops than the average red which of course played right into my favor.

On tap at brewery. Hazy orange-amber with a white head, light lacing. Lots of orange and caramel in the nose, but the keeps this from becoming overly sweet, lots of pine bitterness throughout. Flavor is similar, rightly compared to Nugget Nectar by Sara though it doesn’t showcase the bright floral hops as well, rather letting the caramel and earth notes dominate with bitterness as background. Moderate body, rather chewy. Balanced and enjoyable, I think a bit more hop, possibly something citrus-heavy, would lighten the experience a bit while maintaining the consistent profile.

On tap, at brewery. Pours a clear dark amber to orangish body with a small tight bubbled off-white head. The nose shows lots of citrusy and resiny hops over what smells to be a rather hefty toasted and caramel malt base. Nicely balanced flavor, leans a bit to the hops side, but there’s certainly plenty of chewy malt backing it up. Finishes with a modeately bitter resiny hop note that lingers well. Really pretty nice, I could have a few of these if I didn’t have to drive home!

Pours a transparent copper amber with a clingy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of big resiny assertive grapefruity hops and toasty caramel sweetness. Starts with good fullness and rich sweet toasty caramel with a clean resiny grapefruity hop character. Finishes smooth and bittersweet. A top notch double red loaded with hops, yet well-balanced.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber body with a tan lacing. Has a nice pine and citrus aroma, some sweet and tart grapefruit. Nice hoppy bite with citrus and more grapefruit to finish. Great beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Strong nose in pollen fresh hop-resin, strong leaf and a crisp edge of malt caramel. Nice. Pours a clearish red, with a tall finger of creamy off-white. Flavor is in-line with the aroma. There’s a bubbly fresh hop character, cascading into some toothier caramels. The warrior hop character is flavor forward, without too much blinding hop heat. The alcohol melds in well. There’s lots of juicy fruit as a result, tangerine, kumquat and some lime. It’s a very nice beer and surprisingly drinkable for the level of malt and hop. I might like a little more malt support, though. Otherwise, excellent!

Draught at the brewpub. Pours amber with beige head. The aroma is lots of dried fruits and herbal tea, hints of toffee and cotton candy. The flavor is fruity hops, grapefruit, pineapple, orange, pine. Some caramel, honey, and toast characterize the malts. Mediu-bitter finish that leaves a piney aftertaste. Pretty good.
