COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the story goes, I was redesigning our IPA to be bigger and better. As it came together, it started to take on a life of its own. After much deliberation and several pints of our new creation, we decided to name him after the master of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe, as a tribute to his aptly named short story "Hop Frog". As Edgar fermented and spewed his almost abusive hop aroma throughout the pub, his legend and our thirst grew until finally one day, he was released into the world. We hope Edgar amuses you as much as he has us but stay on his good side, because, much like the story, this Hop Frog bites back!

First off...Great Beer! Had this in the brewery and it's cool place. This beer is full of fruity hoppy flavor and aromas. It's a winner.

Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance –The beer is served a very hazy yellowish orange color with a tiny fizzy white head that fades almost instantly, with it leaving only a trace of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is big of a fruity smell with tons of tropical fruits and citrus, being a mix of tangerine, orange, pineapple and mango. Along with these smells comes some aromas of a grapefruit hop as well as a little bit of a grassy smell, overall producing a rather inviting aroma. Taste – The taste begins with some of the tropical fruit and citrus flavors that were hinted at in the nose, but while quite heavy in the nose they are not as heavy in the taste. These are joined upfront by a decent showing of a grapefruit hop as well as some more bready and cracker like flavors. The bready flavors fade as the taste advances and are accompanied by a decrease in the tropical fruits as well. All the while however, the cracker and grapefruit hop flavors get stronger, giving a much drier taste profile to the brew. The grapefruit really surges at the end and is joined by a bit of grass and pine, with the mix of flavors leaving a rather pleasant and crisp bitter flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is rather thin for a brew of 7.5 % with a carbonation level that is a bit on the higher side. For the more crisp and hopped flavors of the brew, the feel is rather fantastic with it really giving the flavors a sharp and refreshing feel. Overall – A quite tasty and rather more refreshing and crisp IPA. A rather nice brew overall.

Draft at the source. Hazy pale yellow color, huge white head. Aroma of lemon > grapefruit > pineapple. Taste is bright and softly sour tropical fruit. Delicious.

Pale golden yellow pour thin white head with a very thin lacing.... Aroma of citrusy and piney hops, oranges, grapefruit and light caramel malts .... Taste of bitter citrusy hops, grapefruit and tropical fruit, a bit piney and resiny with a slight caramel malt on the back end ... Very up there on the Ibus ... Dry and a nice balance of piney and citrusy hops .... Has a very nice dry resiny bitter piney bite that lingers for a while abv hidden well. Solid

Pours hazy golden copper with thin head. Smell is danky of pine, resin, mango and citrus. Taste starts sweet with flavors of resin, pine, mango, orange and then a bitter finish. Complex. Light body light carbonation

Pours a cloudy, murky, nasty looking gold. Tastes and smells of pine and slight citrus. Quite bitter, but not overwhelming on the palate. A good drink, but not necessarily the one of choice.

On tap at the brewpub, served in a shaker. Pours hazy golden with a small white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has huge pungent notes of resin and grapefruit, along with a smaller amount of tropical fruit. Pale malts and grass are present, but subdued. The flavour is moderately bitter with resinous notes and grapefruit peel coming to the fore. Bitterness picks up on the back side, leading to a long, bitter resinous finish with a touch of pepper. On the palate it is medium in body with a smooth milky texture and average carbonation. Overall a very nice IPA with a huge resin-citrus nose and an impressive bitterness to match. Very well done. 2014-04-27

Tasted at Bullfrog (Wlliamsport, PA) with ML. On tap. Pours cloudy gold with pale white head. Aroma is classic IPA hops, citrus, and pine, with notes of grass, but with sweet malts as well. Flavour is a well polished balance of pleasantly bold hops and malts. Fine IPA. A perfect way to start the day :).

This one poured a darker straw yellow, almost orangw with a white head. Aroam was of fresh cut fruit, grapefruit, and some grass. Flavor was similar, fruity, light floral notes, not malt getting in the way. Pretty solid.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Looks orange against the red glass votives, but likely the brew is a hazy amber. Tulip. Slight foam up top. Light malty sweet up front. Complex hop bite in the finish. Caramel. Tangerine peels. Orange blossom. Sharp grapefruit pith. Dandelion. Persimmon. Kumquat. Peppercorn. Unexpected full body. Nicely blended, though thoughtfully unbalanced brew. A must for clever drinkers!
