COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As the story goes, I was redesigning our IPA to be bigger and better. As it came together, it started to take on a life of its own. After much deliberation and several pints of our new creation, we decided to name him after the master of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe, as a tribute to his aptly named short story "Hop Frog". As Edgar fermented and spewed his almost abusive hop aroma throughout the pub, his legend and our thirst grew until finally one day, he was released into the world. We hope Edgar amuses you as much as he has us but stay on his good side, because, much like the story, this Hop Frog bites back!

Fresh growler courtesy of Frank. Pours a bright, hazy orange body with nice white lacing that lasts throughout. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, light funk and tropical fruits. Mouthfeel is medium, super sessionable and refreshing with notes of bitter grapefruit, lemon, pine, light dank herb, light floral flavors, and a dry finish. Super Fresh.

Growler courtesy of Frank. This was a fresh hop Edgar made with Citra. Hazy somewhat glowing orange copper pour, medium white head and lacing. Notes of skunk, wood, pine, grapefruit, light melon, tropical zest, and some more bitter and dry lemon wood flavors in the finish. Kept going back for this and the amarillo hopgasm during the sess. Dankness.

Fresh Growler pour compliments of Evan, Pours a cloudy orange with small to medium white head. Aromas of grapefruit citrus, english malts, and maybe some pineapple. Taste has some nice fresh, bitter hoppiness. Notes of caramel, oranges, grains, and melon. Well executed.

2012-08-17. Lightly hazy golden orange body with a small head. Pleasant flavour with lots of sweet orange citrus, hints of melon and tropical fruit, tangerine. Modest bitterness throughout suits it.7++ Smooth average plus bodied palate is softly carbonated. 3+ Sweet orange citrus in the aroma, tangerine notes, and mild leafy green hop touches as it warms up. Quite nice. Very drinkable, and the best beer on tap today by far. On tap at Bullfrog, Williamsport

Growler shared by durwoodx. Thanks Darrell! The beer is clear and bright orange with a small head and minimal lacing. The aroma is primarily of candied citrus fruits. The flavor brings more of the same. The beer is very hop forward, with little malt presence. The feel is a bit sweet and sticky and coats the palate with a lasting bitterness. Overall, another solid beer from Bullfrog. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 04-17-2011

Draft. Golden orange pour with white head. Citrus, pine, earthy grassy hop notes dominate this brew. Nice and fresh, aromas are similar if a bit muted at this temperature.

I’ve had this beer many times and the recipe changes every few years. This is for the current Edgar on tap. Very hazy dark gold pour. Nice off white head that eventually recedes into a white ring that stays for the whole pint. Nose is pinapple, mixed tropical fruit, fresh citrus zest ( orange, grapefruit and lemon). There is a mild malt presence in the nose as well. Flavor follows the nose exactly! This is an excellent IPA/IIPA. Medium body. If this were a tad more drinkable, it would be amazing. However, I did take a couple growlers for my weekend in the woods with my In-laws.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Orange amber body with a massive, creamy head. Lasts for a few minutes before dieing down to a nice skim. Good amount of lacing clings to the edges of the glass. S: The first word that came to my mind was "fresh." The nose was a very clean, bright, and invigorating combination of grapefruit, pineapple and other citrus notes. Some toffee like malts form a nice canvas for the bright bitter notes to pop like paint on a Jackson Pollock painting. T: Much of the same here. To steal a line or two from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels... "I asked you to give me a refreshing drink. I wasn’t expecting a fucking rainforest! You could fall in love with an orangutan in that!" ... Very nice tropical fruit flavoring with a nice bitter edge. M: Medium bodied with healthy carbonation and a nice oily and refreshing finish. O: Top notch, my favorite regular Bullfrog offering to date.

Piney piney piney. An overhopped piney ipa. Not offensive at all, I just prefer floral or citrus hops. Decent though.
