As a lover of saisons I felt it necessary to brew its French counterpart, the Biere de Garde, full of luxurious richness with its aroma sweet to tart candy apples. The palette is full of expressive malt yet finishes dry and spicy with a note of tartness from the yeast.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured a medium to deeper amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of fruit rinds, earthy, spices, yeastiness, and some breadiness. Tastes of fruitiness, some funkiness, yeast, earthy, and caramel. Some funk present that was enjoyable. Lacing left on the glass.

Bomber, obtained at the brewpub in November. Great big foamy head, on a cloudy grapefruit coloured body. The aroma is a tad funky, it draws you in. Well malted, there is some acidity. Nicely drinkable, and would have ’er again.

Thanks again to puzzl for sharing. Deep amber pour with thick white head. The nose is slightly tart with a bit of pineapple character. There is a slightly wet rancidity in here that I can’t say I’m a huge fan of. It’s quite odd actually.

Bottle at Paul’s place for Kan’s visit. Pours a murky light brown with a medium sized white head. Light sweet caramel, grain, slight musk, and a bit of old apples. Medium bodied, light acid note. Finishes with a touch of a slow bitterness.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a large bone colored head over a muddy amber body. Aroma is butter, cinnamon, pastries, alcohol and apple pie. Really nice. Taste is a bit sour with some green apple, and caramel. Doesn’t live up to the aroma. Fizzy.

750 ml bottle shared by? Pours a hazy copper color with a large dense beige colored head that leaves thick lacing. The aroma is floral, spicy, grassy with some caramel and bready malts. The flavor is sweet bready malt, caramel, with spices, dry citrus, and floral notes. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a nice dry finish. This is not a style I have had a lot of, but I found this to be enjoyable.

( 750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours very murky rusty orange with huge fluffy lasting head. Nose is funky and fruity. Taste is apricot, alcohol, creamy with a great sweet linger. I also find that it has a good crisp hop kick at the end.
