Commercial Description:
Brewed in Belgium's famous Trappist style, this ale starts with a complex fruity aroma of rasins, rum, toffee, and spice. On the palate the dark rich malts explode in a burst of effervescence that cuts through the sweetish middle to reveal a dry, slightly winey finish.

750mL bottle. Pours murky brown, capped with a moderate sized beige head. Aroma was on the sweet side, with notes of brown sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is similar to the aroma, with plum, fig, raisin, brown sugar, spice, and caramel. Body is a bit thin. Another nice bottled effort from Bullfrog.

750ml Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of dark fruits, yeast, malts, banana, sugar, and hops. Poured dark brown with hints of ruby and purple in color and a medium-sized, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of brown sugar, raisins, dark fruits, toffee, cherries, yeast, and malts. Medium to full body. Tingly, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, fruity, chalky finish.

25.4 oz bottle. Deep brown with a creamy beige head. Nose is sour raisin, wood and fudge. Nice silky body with a plummy tang. Taste verges on a sour but more brown than red. Tart and woody; vinous with faint dark fruits.

Sampled a small bit at Pints for Pets. Poured a hazy deep brown amber color. I got a pretty small sample so the head was pretty non-existent. The taste has a weird salty character, but I got pretty much the bottom of the bottle. There is a ton of apple and cherry flavor in this brew. A pretty good thickness to it. An ok dubbel.

Draft at Arena Grill in Wilkes Barre, PA. Pours a dark murky brown with a tan head. Flavor of dark fruit, yeast, brown sugar. Nice amount of sweetness with an accent of mustiness. Some phenols on the tail end. Not bad at all.

this was a nice representation of a Belgium brew. It had a ’trappist’ feel to it and an expected finish. Very easy drinking - smooth brew. If you like a moderate Belgium flavor - this is your beer.
