Bullfrog Friar Frog Dubbel

Poured a burgandy color with a thin, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana chips, coconuts, and yeast. Taste of raisins, prunes, cherries, and yeast, peppery alcohol leading way to a dry finish.

Growler from Kramer17801. The pour is dark brownish and ruddy, with khaki head. Aroma of caramel scotchy malts, a solid dose of dark fruit (figs, cherry), banana, and some brown sugar. Medium palate with caramel malt in the flavor, plus toffee, brown sugar, some cherry, figs, and a little finishing cognacy heat. Nicely done, and a solid selection for my Bullfrog cherry-popping!

Previewed this somewhat yeasty experiment. Full flavour and sweet. Will be less sweet as it ages. Liked the yeast aroma and taste, chewy mouthfeel.

Thanks to weeare56 for sharing this one. Pours a deep amber almost brown with a medium bubbly foamy of white head that laced. Aroma of tart cherries, dark fruits, brown sugar, Belgian yeast esters and nuts. Flavor was tart up front, some cherries, dark fruits, toasted malt and toffee.

Draft at Capone’s a few weeks ago. Dark amber color with small tight head. Aroma of sweet malt and dark fruits,maily plums. The taste was the same with creamy sweet plummy finish. Pretty good.

Thanks to my wife for bringing this for me from the brewery. It presented muddy, river-bottom brown with a fizzy stir. Sweet brown-sugary aroma. Super sweet beer -- thick with flavor, but sugary sweet. But there’s also a definite sweettart feel to it as well. This is a super dark beer that flirts with the Belgian sour family. On tap at BCTC. Deep reddish brown in color with a little off white head. Fruity malty aroma. Bananas, raisins and plum notes. Fruity spicey flavor. Raisin and peppery notes. Finish is dry. Sweet. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

750ml Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of dark fruits, yeast, malts, banana, sugar, and hops. Poured dark brown with hints of ruby and purple in color and a medium-sized, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of brown sugar, raisins, dark fruits, toffee, cherries, yeast, and malts. Medium to full body. Tingly, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, fruity, chalky finish.
