Dark amber clear with and off-white lacing head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Great malt start, sweet with heavy malt presence, red licorice, mild diacetyl, some molasses and candi sugar. A bit of ozone burn which is odd, but overall a good sweet dubbel with some estery yeastiness.

Braudog (3575), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jan 11, 2009 Thanks to my wife for bringing this for me from the brewery. It presented muddy, river-bottom brown with a fizzy stir. Sweet brown-sugary aroma. Super sweet beer -- thick with flavor, but sugary sweet. But there’s also a definite sweettart feel to it as well. This is a super dark beer that flirts with the Belgian sour family. If you’re into that, it’s great. (#3472, 11/2008)
