COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed as an Easter time offering. This is a traditional Belgian Golden ale with an untraditional twist of being aged on French cacao nibs. It has lots of fruit and spice as well as hints of chocolate in its bone dry finish.

Growler shared by durwoodx. Thanks Darrell. An Easter offering. Belgian golden ale aged on cacao nibs. The beer appears a bright, golden hue. The white head is 1/4" thick and leaves some decent lacing on the chalice. The aroma brings a potent dose of hot, spicy, cacao nibs. The flavor is full of cacao nibs, and has a tabasco like characteristic throughout. The feel is a bit harsh and out of balance. The special ingredient takes center stage and overshadows everything else. This is hard to finish. Fun to try, but I have had enough of this. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 04-17-2011

Draft from Capone’s. Pours gold with white head. Nose is hops, florals, funk, mangoey citrus. Tastes a bit tart, with fruity, funky, and spicy floral notes. Didn’t get much cacao here, but found this one enjoyable.

Big hint of bakers chocolate on the nose. Pours golden yellow with a nice white head. You definitely get the chocolate on the tongue though it overpowers every thing else. Has some linger to it. A very odd beer. I enjoyed it and was bitterly disappointed by it at the same time.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2011 hazy gold, thin fizzy white head gone quick. Nose of pepper, lemon, and a strong vanilla bean note. Flavor has heavy citrus and wheat that unfolds into wood, vanilla, and a light bean, dry peppery finish with more light vanilla. Creamy body, vanilla really takes edge of base, and dry, woody character shines nicely through finish, particularly the finish where the aging is mostly apparent in the dryness and lightest sweetness.
