Big hint of bakers chocolate on the nose. Pours golden yellow with a nice white head. You definitely get the chocolate on the tongue though it overpowers every thing else. Has some linger to it. A very odd beer. I enjoyed it and was bitterly disappointed by it at the same time.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 MrChopin (2213) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 20, 2011
UPDATED: APR 22, 2011 hazy gold, thin fizzy white head gone quick. Nose of pepper, lemon, and a strong vanilla bean note. Flavor has heavy citrus and wheat that unfolds into wood, vanilla, and a light bean, dry peppery finish with more light vanilla. Creamy body, vanilla really takes edge of base, and dry, woody character shines nicely through finish, particularly the finish where the aging is mostly apparent in the dryness and lightest sweetness.
