A bright and clean tasting malt forward mild ale with a subtle, pleasant, smoky character from the oak smoked wheat malt and a hint of rye spiciness due to the addition of German Rye malt.

pours a sligntly hazy amber/copper with a thin off white head. aroma has light smokiness and earthy and lightly fruity malt notes. flavor has lighty fruity notes beneath a touch of earthy rye and light smoke. mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is dry and earthy/smoky...crisp.

A very interesting brew. Pours amber with a small head. The aroma has a lot of sweet malt with a bit of caramel and some smoke. The flavor had the sweetness and a bit of smoke. Nice sipping beer.

Tap. Pours a clear dark copper body with a nice creamy beige head that retained as a thin film. The nose is pretty light, a little dry husky malt, light rye, light caramel, and just a hint of smoke. The flavor is pretty similar, light and thin with caramel and dry malt up front. Finishes with just a bit of spice from the rye and the littlest amount of smoke. Light bodied, fairly watery in texture, light fizzy carbonation. Ok beer I suppose, though the smoke is barely perceptible.

Draft at brewpub. Pours brown with a quarter inch of whitish foam. Slight malt note on the nose. Not getting much rye on the tongue and only a little but of smokiness. Finches clean. Eh!
