Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a black color with a small foamy beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart and sour with notes of black cherries and oregano. The flavor was very tart and very sour with touches of oregano, black cherry, a hint of vanilla and an odd astringency. Long tart and astringent finish of cherry and oregano. Moderately full bodied but undercarbonated. Solid.

Draft at House of 1000 Brews, New Kensington. Pours a clear brown color with a thin tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of tart cherries and earthy notes. The taste is tart cherries, earth, caramel. Medium bodied and, thankfully, dry for this style.

On tap at HOTB. Nice Flemish sour brown and oaky aroma. No hops. Tart and funky. Dark brown clear with no head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Tart sour brown ale with oak and funky notes, not quite cheesy. Wonderfully acidic and fruity, with smooth tart aftertaste and a bit of lingering sweetness.

This one poured a clear darker red color with a small beige head. Aroma was of light vinegar, light toasted malt, green apple, sour cherries, and light funk. Flavor was significantly sour, but still did not overwhelm the mild cheese, cherry taste with light burnt mollasses in the finish. Nice stuff.

Draft at Craft Ale House. Pours turbid muddy brown with minimal head. Nose is funky lactic fruit, some cherry, fig. Tastes of tart lactic cherries, fig, some old aley cobwebby dusty yeasty estery notes, and a tart finish, but not super tart. Decent.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours dark reddish brown with minimal head. The aroma has a ton of tart cherry, limited else. The taste is very sour cherry, vinegar, residual sourness. Nice!

Draft at Khyber Pass. Tulip. Hazy dark ruby with a fizzy/foamy off-white cap. Nice Flemish Red (ala Rodenbach) but noticeably more sour. Nice mouthfeel for the style. Some nice earthy flavors smooth out the finish well, though a few moments later the sour returns and lingers. Tart and refreshing.

Pours amber brown with a reddish tan head. Aroma is cherry, vinegar and earthy. Taste is tart and sour that sweetens on the finish. Light bodied with a slick texture, smooth and decent carbonation.

Enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. Not overly sour, which is a plus for me.

Growler, from brewpub. Pours a dark ruby red with a small frothy off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is a nice mix of sour cherry and sweetness with a little brett and Cheerio like maltiness. The flavor is just the right amount of funky and sour without much acidity, making it very drinkable. There’s a nice almost sour cherry like aspect to the flavor as well. Finishes on the drier side with some lingering brett. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. My bad, but not a favorite from them of late.
