Reddish brown pour with aroma of tart cherry, oak, and a touch of funk. Modest but evident sour cherry flavor upfront with some oak and a little funk. Very nice.

On tap at Barcade. Aroma is old cherries, some iron, and faint red wine. Pours dark red with minimal head and lacing. Taste is mildly sour with cherries, some iron, and a nice heart yeast. Overall, a really lame bruin with more of an old cherry taste instead of a solid sour presence. Expected better.

Murky red brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of bacterias, wood, cherries, leather, and some vinegar. Taste of red wine vinegar, lacto, tart cherries, wood, and a sour finish.

Draft at Trias with linh. Pours a deep, dark reddish mahogany with thin off whit lacing. Aroma is light fruit, sweet malt, oak and grains. Mouthfeel is smooth with notes of cherry pie, sweet fruity malts, grains, earthy wheat character and light funk. Nice.

2013-08-16. Dark mahogany brown body with a tiny beige head. Aroma is relatively mild, fruit, cherry, vinous undertones. Flavour is pleasantly zippy, pretty sour up front with notes of cherry fruit and lactic sourness. Average bodied palate, soft yet effervescent carbonation. Pretty nice. Listed on the menu as JB Kriek but I think this is the right entry for it? On tap at the brewpub, Williamsport

JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 7, 2013
On tap at Pinocchio’s, Media. Thinnish, oily brown pour with a brisk carbonatino and vigorous head that are gone in a flash. Nose is tart as hell, only faintly oaky and almost no detectable funk. Vastly acetic mouthfeel, even for this sourhead. Flavor is domined by underripe cherries, but is generally lacking the depth and complexity that I love in the style. Brash, calling attention to itself, that was the impression I got.

Dark brown body, thin off-white head, minimal lacing. Cherries, oak, acetic, funk, earth. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, moderate acidity and tartness. fruity, with smooth tart aftertaste and a bit of lingering sweetness.

On tap at Al's of Hampden in Enola, PA. As a new fan of sours and an opposer of most brown ales, I knew I was taking a risk with this one. Did not pay off, but I always appreciate a new experience.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4547) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2013
Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a black color with a small foamy beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart and sour with notes of black cherries and oregano. The flavor was very tart and very sour with touches of oregano, black cherry, a hint of vanilla and an odd astringency. Long tart and astringent finish of cherry and oregano. Moderately full bodied but undercarbonated. Solid.
