Draft at the brewery. Dark mahogany pour with a shoe leather brown head. Oily dark chocolate aroma with minimal smoke. Smoke appears more in the flavor, hitting on the back of the tongue. Dark chocolate, smoke, bready, kind of all over the place.

Draft, Bullfrog Brewery. Pours a very dark, brownish black color; medium tan head with medium-bubbled lacing. A bit of baker’s chocolate and minimal oily smoke in the aroma; very oily overall. Medium-to-full, surpisingly smokey mouthfeel: roasted / charred malts, bitter chocolate, and some oily nuttiness; very messy, uninspired imperial stout; more of a lightly smoked, dry stout (with a similar smoked character to the Susquehanna Oatmeal); medium, smoked meat and charred malts in the finish.
