COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sunny gold in complexion with a vinous, psychedelic aroma bursting with wildness. Bone dry with a champagne-like effervescent and volatile acidity. Additional aging in oak barrels develops an even more complex palate.

(Sample Date: 1/15/2011 Source:Other) Earthy spicy woody nose with hint of acidic sourness. Almost clear light golden with white head. Flavor follows aroma with honey notes. Lightly sour and dry. Light body and well carbonated. Finish is dry and spicy with a woody residual.

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy’s Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10

Aroma: The nose is has sour notes, bretty, some tart lemon, wood, and other fruity notes
Appearance: It pours into the glass a hazy orange-yellow color with an off-white head
Flavor: The taste is slightly sour (slight puckering), funky, and some fruity sweetness too
Palate: The body is medium, but a touch on the thin side, the carbonation is fairly soft
Overall Impression: Overall, I found this one to be a pretty solid example of the style. This was a pretty good sour ale to me, something I’d drink again for sure.

750 ml bottle acquired via trade. Pours a clear yellow with a medium white bubbly head. A sour apple nose, with some oaky barrel. The flavor is nice; a very smooth oak dominated flavor, some light fruits, peaches perhaps, sourness throughout, but not acidic. Very complex and gentle. Nice,

Bottle (thanks Doug!): Pours a hazy gold color with light head and lacing. The nose is tart with sharp yeast and brett and light honey and peaches. The flavor is zesty with a tartness and some creamy pale malt mouthfeel. Honey in the finish and a nice balanced tartness that gives this a fresh lively tail.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a nice white head that gives some good lace. Aroma is very nice with accents of sweet fruit and sourness, like sour apples. Some grape and oak type notes as well. Light mouthfeel. The taste has some decent flavors as well with some mild acetone type notes but other than that some good fruit mixed with some oakiness. A pretty nice beer that surpisingly people at the tasting didn’t kill right away. I was lucky enough to get several pours and enjoyed every one.

I usually am not a fan of this style, but this brew is good. It’s got the typical hazy pour for the style and a nice aroma of lemon and ruit. A bread taste with a sour finish. However, the sourness is not overbearing.

Bottle shared by Steve at the September 2010 Metro Detroit tasting. Poured a clear gold with a near white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma was full of sour fruit with some citrus and a nice funky backing. Flavor was similar with sour fruit and citrus that mellows with the funk really coming out in the finish.

In short: A basic straightforward acidic and moderately sour golden ale. Very simple. Below average for the style
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when about 1 year of age. Sent to me by MrChopin. Thanks a lot Kevin
The look: Slightly cloudy golden-orange body topped by a short-lived white head
In long: Nose is acidic, moderately funky and with some citrus notes. Taste is medium-high acidic, some white wine, citrus fruits, sour notes of white grapes, sawdust. Finish is dry, dusty and a acidic. Body is a bit slim. Overall this came through as a very very straightforward acidic sour ale. The intensity was there, but the complexity wasn’t. I had not problem finishing my 750ml bottle but it was one of the least uninteresting American Sour I’ve ever had. For me this was just another minor disappointment in a long list of daily disappointments. I am so low on life that when I smoke weed I don’t get high, I get medium.
