Bottle... GSRARO Throwdown... Murky, caramel-colored ale with a huge, frothy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Earthy, malty aromas of caramel, wood and leather. Light to medium-bodied and thin with lively carbonation. Lots of caramel malt reveals itself in the flavor; however, it takes a back seat to the acidity picked up in the Cabernet barrel. Crisp, tart finish. Thanks go out to Beerlando for providing this one!

I had this written down as ’treehumper’ so it must have been near the end of the night. Apparently what I got out of this was: green apple, feety cheese, and sour. Then I said ’yum’, so I guess it works.

Deep amber, big foamy head. Fruity with a spicy grapefruit hop. Big rounded sweetness, vinous, tart, fruity, woody. Highly enjoyable.

Courtesy Beerlando. Golden/orange/copper and a small off white head. Nose of sweet white grape and lychee, berries, sweet malt, mild acidity. Flavor adds some spicy, airy yeast and some tartness. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Interesting, unique brew. Love the grape/lychee/berry combination of flavors.

Thanks go out to Kempleton for this brew. Bottle poured into a snifter produced one finger worth of white head that transforms into a nice layer of thick lace. The body of this ale was a slightly cloudy, and burgandy in color with tiny little bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass Aromas on this brew are quite interesting, there is some apple and pear smells along with some sweet wine like qualities There are flavors of sweet fruits filled my mouth at first then followed by a spicy bitterness in the end. This is a very unique brew and very complex in it’s flavors and they are very hard to pin down. The mouthfeel is medium with enough carbonation to keep it from being to syrupy on the tongue. This is my first Organic brew and the novelty alone made it worth while to drink. The bottle went down well and I would like to try another one with some age. Another interesting brewery from Pennsylvania looking forward to trying more

From a 750mL Bottle. Courtesy of CharlesDarwin. Thanks, Tom! Pours a brilliantly transparent ruddy, cherry walnut color with a tall head of fizzy beige. Aromas of cherries, grape skins, and brett jump from the glass right away. The brett notes are a bit thin and soapy, with a dry, metallic quality. Grapey, but not exceptionally deep in aromatic complexity. Light bodied, fizzy carbonation with a dry finish. Flavors are a bit thin, revealing little in the way of malt depth. Lots of cherry and grape flavors, but dirty. Earthy. Not much wood or malt character. Mildewy grape skins. Not horrible, but certainly unappealing. Sadly underwhelming considering the surprising quality of the other Bullfrog beers I’ve tried.

Bottle, sampled at WeeHeavySDs 2000th rating party, thanks Jon! Pours a clear dark reddish-brown with an off-white ring. Huge aroma, of malt, pine, grapefruit, and grapes. Sharp, complex taste, of wine, grapefruit, malt, hops, pine, and tangerines. Lingering tart wine and pine hops flavors. Really different and very tasty.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2009 750ml bottle from TheEpeeist, big thanks Chris. Gorgeous dark brown/orangish pour, pretty good off-white head on it as well, the cork flew off pretty far. Nice dark malt, dark fruit aroma, a little vineous as well. Slight acidic flavor in the front, good hop bite, smooth flavor and a hint of the wood as well. Very good beer.

Pours a deep amber with a small head. Aroma of a good hop and malt mix. Lots of hop flavor, but some tartness in there as well.
