Draft at Craft. Poured dark brownish black with tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, mild cacao, yeast, coffee. Tasted medium in palate heft, with roasty malt, a bit thin in the finish, with notes of coffee, cacao, and hops in between.

On tap at HOTB. Wet canvas and hoppy nose, lactic acid and coffee. Smells like the seat of a deuce-and-a-half with coffee spilled on it. Dark black opaque, light tan creamy head. Medium-heavy body and smooth nitro carbonation. Very sweet, rich, malty stout with soy. Sweet nutty finish and sweet after.

On tap on nitro at HOTB. Pours black with a crisp white head indicative of a nitrogenated beer. The head sits on top and doesn't move. The aroma is of coffee and a slight hint of hops. This is light for a stout and the smoothness of the nitrogen adds to that. Not too bitter, definitely on the sweeter side. Great coffee flavor but not overpowering. Goes down smooth.

Draft at brewpub. Pours coca-cola brown with a quarter inch of khaki foam. Leaves a bit of lacing. Massive coffee on the nose, very fresh as though the beans were just roasted. It has that coffee shop smell which is fantastic. And the aroma is still there as the beer goes down. Lots of coffee on the tongue as well. Has a bit of sweetness on the finish. Real easy drinker. Itís the second beer Ive had here today where Iíve thought "That is fucking delicious!"

Deep black body, medium sized tan head, spotty lacing. Roasted coffee and malts, a little earth. Flavor is similar but ads a weird fruity character from the belgian yeast that clashes a little bit--seeming more like infection that intention. Medium to full bodied, gentle carbonation, a bit off in the finish.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2013 Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was brewed coffee, a bit of roasty malts and was a bit dry. The flavor was brewed coffee, faint cream, vanilla, a bit of toasty malts and had an underlying bitterness. Long brewed coffee finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Solid.

Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma has bitter coffee notes, a touch of dark fruit, and a hint of brown sugary sweetness. Flavor steps up the coffee and adds a nice layer of roastiness rather than sugary sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish lingers with dark coffee and mild burnt notes.
